Immortality, the “interactive cinematic trilogy” from Her Story creator Sam Barlow, is coming to PS5 this month.
Featuring “new haptic and controller speaker features to bring to life the game’s virtual moviola”, the game will hit Sony’s console on January 23 priced at $19.99.
Released for PC, Xbox Series X/S and mobile in 2022, Immortality tells the story of vanished actress Marissa Marcel.
It lets players “use the cinematic ability to teleport from scene to scene to explore a treasure trove of newly unearthed footage from the three lost films of Marissa Marcel and traverse decades of movie history”.
The game was well received by critics, earning it scores of 87 (PC) and 88 (Xbox) on review aggregation site Metacritic, and it was nominated for a string of awards.
Notable awards it won included the Narrative prize at the 19th BAFTA Games Awards and the Innovation prize at the 23rd Game Developers Choice Awards.
“From the inception of this project, the goal has been sharing Marissa Marcel’s life and work with as large an audience as possible,” said game director Barlow. “So I am thrilled to bring Immortality to PlayStation gamers and bring them face to face with a lost legend.”

If you're looking for a brand-new early access survival game to play this week, but can't stomach Palworld's particular blend of cartoon color, animal cruelty, and Steam domination, then I'm here to remind you about Enshrouded.
Sony’s slate of upcoming first party exclusives is looking thinner than it has in a while, but it looks like the company will be filling it up with the comeback of a beloved PS4 exclusive. According to prominent leaker billbil-kun, Until Dawn is set to be announced for PS5 and PC soon.
I wasn't as sold on Half Mermaid's Immortality as the internet at large, but I'll give Sam Barlow as much rope for his FMV games as anyone else. He recently Xeeted about the studio's upcoming projects C and D, described as "next level FMV, hold onto your seats", and "reinventing 3rd person horror again", respectively. The games now have heavily redacted Steam pages, and Barlow revealed a few more details on Kinda Funny Games (helpfully transcribed a bit by VGC if you can't be arsed watching).
Sam Barlow — the developer behind acclaimed investigative FMV adventures Immortality, Telling Lies, and Her Story — has announced he's working on two new horror titles, including a third-person survival horror said to be for old school Barlow fans «that played Silent Hill: Shattered Memories back in the day.»
The team behind 2022’s excellent movie-mystery Immortality is back with not one, but two new projects. Sam Barlow and Half Mermaid have stealthily launched Steam pages for Project C and Project D.

The critically-acclaimed Immortality, that was previously only available on consoles through Microsoft's Xbox Series X and S machines, has made its way to the Sony PlayStation 5 today. This title, which used to be available on Xbox’s Game Pass service, was among the highest-rated games of its year, and it even won several prestigious awards.
With the likes of Shin Megami Tensei 5, Persona 5 Reload, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable, Atlus has released a number of its major titles for the Nintendo Switch in recent years, so when the developer announced last year that its next two flagship releases in Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio wouldn’t be coming to Nintendo’s platform, many were taken by surprise.
The have been revealed. The episode will air on Netflix.
