The next game from Ori and the Blind Forest developer Moon Studios, entitled No Rest for the Wicked, was expected to debut in early access in the first quarter of this year. But per publisher Take-Two Interactive, it looks like it's been delayed.

Dave the Diver was pretty huge for developer Mintrocket, being nominated for multiple awards in multiple categories throughout 2023. Unfortunately, the game didn't come to PlayStation systems, but Mintrocket is looking to change that with a new release coming this May.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. have revealed 24 fighters for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and they're all Goku and Vegeta. Unsurprisingly, considering Goku and Vegeta are the two main characters in the Dragon Ball Z saga (amongst others like Gohan, for example), Spike Chunsoft is giving players the chance to fight using their various forms. This includes Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Majin Vegeta, and more.

The trailer is terrifying and moody, with Senua belting out a Scandinavian folk tune and glaring intensely as flames and light surround her. If Microsoft wanted to make a memorable splash, it definitely succeeded.

Players will now be awarded «Champion of the Dragonflights» as a title when they complete Champion of the Dragonflights, the Dragonflight Epilogue. 2024 might be the Academy Awards’ biggest year in ages. The Oscar nominations, set for announcement on Tuesday, Jan. 23, are primed to honor highly regarded films from around the world, performances that premiered in theaters and on streaming, and a few of the biggest movies of the year — including the Barbenheimer double feature of Oppenheimerand Barbie. It’s been a slow crawl back from the hazy pandemic era where movies that kinda sorta came out in time won Best Picture, but here we are, with a set of nomations that stands to be both predictable and electrifying.

Teyon has announced that RoboCop: Rogue City is getting a content update that will include new game plus, a new difficulty, and an Auto9 skin. It’s available now on PC, with the console versions getting it tomorrow.

There’s no Spider-Man movie like No Way Home, which is probably why it’s taking so long for Spider-Man 4 to get off the ground.

Given how impressive Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was, it seemed inevitable that there would be a sequel. The game, despite being made independently by Ninja Theory, blew even the highest-budget games on the market out of the water in terms of graphical fidelity and storytelling. Microsoft realized this potential as well and purchased the studio to provide a bigger budget to the team for the eventual sequel and to secure it as a console exclusive for its then-unreleased Xbox Series X and S systems.

We finally have a release date for Ninja Theory's Hellblade sequel: May 21, 2024. It's been over four years since Senua's Saga was announced at the 2019 Game Awards alongside Microsoft's (then next-gen) Xbox Series X console.

We've finally been given some more information concerning Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 after last night's Xbox Direct. 

The Ensemble: Gilnean Noble's Suit transmog set awarded upon completion of the Reclaiming Gilneas questline has been hotfixed, adding volume and depth to several aspects of its appearance! The new version is not fundamentally different from the original, but features several small improvements. Although somewhat subtle in not changing the overall look or color scheme, the hotfix improves the appearance in three noticeable areas:

Today, during the most recent Xbox Developer Direct, Ara: History Untold, a new strategy game from Oxide Games, got a deep dive revealing gameplay and more. The game was first announced in 2022.

You don’t need me to tell you how highly praised Baldur’s Gate 3 has been since it dropped last August. It’s won multiple awards and is currently one of the top-selling games on Steam right now. So let’s talk about Star Wars for a bit.

Crunchyroll announced the nominees for the 2024 Anime Awards on Wednesday, with the categories populated by several long-running favorites and a number of new premieres. Chainsaw Man dominates the list, with 25 nominations across this year’s 32 award categories, followed by Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season at 17. The nominations for the 24th annual Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA) have been announced, and two of the biggest games this year are up for the most awards. There are some smaller contenders in the mix. 

Players who complete the new Reclaiming Gilneas questline in Dragonflight Patch 10.2.5 will be rewarded with the Reins of the Gilnean Prowler mount as well as the Ensemble: Gilnean Noble's Suit cosmetic transmog! We always look forward to CES. Not just because it kicks off the year, or because it brings nearly every major tech company under one roof, or because it means a flood of new products. We love it because of the surprises: every year, without fail, there is some strange and surprising new tech that captures our attention and makes us want to tell everyone, “come look at this.”

Look, I’m just going to say it. I haven’t played Baldur’s Gate 3 yet. I know, I know. The fact that it’s won so many awards should clue me into just how much of a gaming phenomenon it is. However, what I am really into is The Elder Scrolls series, and a recent mod is making my ears prick up.

Sega has been a massive name in the game industry for years. Even after the company stopped making its own consoles, we’ve continued to see both new IPs and classic franchises make a return. However, some franchises that Sega owns haven’t had a chance in the limelight in quite a few years. But that doesn’t mean they are down the count. It was just last month that we got the big reveal from Sega. If you don’t recall, during The Game Awards for 2023, a trailer dropped from Sega showcasing that several of their classic IPs are getting reimagined and released for modern platforms.

A number of recently revealed titles have been slapped with 2025 release windows, so I can’t help but wonder how next year will shape up and, most importantly, what the awards seasons will look like.

 We know that “winning lots of awards” isn’t exactly a “critical game development goal” when creating a video game. After all, it’s impossible to know what people will think of your title after you make it, even if you’ve spent years working on it, and even if you DO get nominated, it’s not a guarantee you’ll win. That last part was personified by Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 over the last month or so. Despite being one of the best games of 2023 by a large margin and being nominated for tons of awards across multiple sites and shows, it hasn’t exactly been “raking them in.”

The nominations for the 27th annual D.I.C.E (Design Innovate Communicate Entertain) Awards have been announced by The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is leading the pack with a total of nine nominations. 

In the upcoming D.I.C.E awards, Spider-Man 2 takes an early lead by scoring nine nominations. The awards ceremony is scheduled for February 15 this year.

The 27th D.I.C.E. Awards return next month to Las Vegas, where the industry-only event celebrates the best games and achievements in games of 2023. Unlike The Game Awards, which are hosted and produced by Geoff Keighley, with votes from media outlets and the public in some instances, the D.I.C.E Awards are voted on exclusively by game developers. 

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has been confirmed to make an appearance at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2024 on January 27 and January 28.

Spider-Man 2 led the nominations for the 27th Annual DICE Awards, which were announced yesterday.

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) has announced the nominations for the 27th annual DICE Awards, revealing that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has garnered the most nominations (9) ahead of Alan Wake 2 (8) and Baldur's Gate 3 (7). Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Character (for Miles Morales), Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Action Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, and Game of the Year. Alan Wake 2 was listed in the Art, Character (for Saga Anderson), Music Composition, Audio Design, Story, Technical Achievement, Adventure, and Game of the Year categories. Baldur's Gate 3 is running in the Character (for Astarion and Karlach), Story, RPG, Game Design, Game Director, and Game of the Year awards.

Tekken 8 trailers continue to come out, with the latest being the gameplay reveal trailer for Panda. The trailer dubs Panda as the Pretty Protector. This is not the first time we have seen Panda in a trailer, as she appeared in Kuma’s gameplay trailer where there was a very forceful wedding proposal offer.

A fix for the save-deleting bug that has blighted Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox is coming next week, as Microsoft has apparently found the root cause for the issue in the Xbox Series X|S system software.
