Developer Rocksteady Studios has pulled back the curtains on the free seasonal content coming to Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League after the game's launch on February 2. Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has reportedly laid off 45 people, Kotaku has learned. The publication says those with knowledge of the situation at the studio said the layoffs only affected people at Behaviour's Montreal, Canada studio, with those 45 affected let go last week, between January 9 and 11.

AI-powered prediction models made accurate predictions within the trial they were developed in, but gave "random predictions" outside of it, according to a new research. Researchers said the study showed that generalisations of predictions of artificial intelligence-based models across different study centres cannot be ensured at the moment and that these models were "highly context-dependent". A six-episode stunner where a macabre murder unspools into a layered exploration of an Alaskan town at the edge of Earth, its relationship with its Indigenous population, and the things the Arctic’s long night can do to a person, Night Country is about as good a start to television in 2024 we can ask for.

The original Super Mario RPG, released for Super Nintendo in 1996, felt like it was meant to be your first RPG. In an era when Final Fantasy tried its best to tell mature stories within the medium's limitations and Dragon Quest demanded hours and hours of your time, Mario’s adventure felt much brighter and more manageable. Familiar characters, a lighthearted story, a reasonable length, and timed button-pressing during combat made it stand out against the competition. Revisiting the game more than 25 years later in this new remade shape shows the original formula did not need much tweaking to deliver an engaging and enjoyable journey. Super Mario RPG is not entirely innocent of the sins of video games past, but old fans will relish the chance to see the game in a new light, and I’m confident newcomers will find something to love.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League exists at a strange intersection of gaming hype. On the one hand, obviously, we are and should be excited for Rocksteady's return to the Arkham Universe that it popularized through some of the greatest superhero games of all time. Obviously. But on the other hand, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League deviates from so many of the conventions that made Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight so beloved. And so many of those conventions that Kill the Justice League embraces – such as a team-based, co-op infrastructure, and a live-service-inspired post-launch content plan – have crashed and burned in other superhero games, most notably Crystal Dynamic's ill-fated 2020 Avengers title.

More than six years after the original Persona 5 arrived on U.S. store shelves, the RPG is still spitting out successors and spin-offs that capitalize on how beloved that title is to this day. The 2020 update, Persona 5 Royal, is the best-received successor, but both 2021 Musou hybrid Persona 5 Strikers and the recently released turn-based strategy RPG Persona 5 Tactica gave players plenty to love.

It was announced at the end of 2023 that the next game in the Subnautica series is currently in development, with a penciled in release window of Early 2025 for fans to look forward to. Unfortunately, that's pretty far away, and with little to go off of in terms of how the game will look or play, fans of the series have been writing up their wishlists for what they want to see and possible improvements that developer Unknown Worlds could work on.

Sitting down to write this review, I could barely believe Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the first new entry in the Prince of Persia franchise in 13 years. After both considering my time with this game and the rich history the series has enjoyed until now, I had to remind myself why that is.

Echo, the latest chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is probably going to fly under a lot of people’s radar. The urgency of the interconnected superhero setting has ebbed as Marvel Studios and Warner Bros. retool their offerings, and that goes double for a show that’s spinning off a minor character from a two-year-old miniseries into a five-episode miniseries on Hulu and Disney Plus, and making teases about another less-than-imminent show.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman may have gone through a huge crisis after being fired and re-appointed within days, but he is not letting any grass grow under his feet as far as his personal life is concerned. Social media is all agog about Altman marrying his partner Oliver Mulherin today. While no official word has come from any source so far, a few photographs are going viral on X/Twitter indicating the deed is done. These photos were reportedly shared by Mulhorin, but that is not confirmed. In fact, there is still no official confirmation about the marriage at all except what is going viral on the web.

will follow Amanda Waller's Task Force X, a team comprised of some of the DC Universe's rogues as they battle DC's primary superhero team, the Justice League. The title takes place in the same universe as Rocksteady Games' games, but unlike those titles, is a third-person shooter that can be played solo with AI teammates, or with up to four players in online co-op. With the game's focus on online co-op, some are likely wondering if players will be restricted to playing with those on their chosen gaming platform, or if will have crossplay functionality.

Echo has arrived and despite its smaller scale, it couldn’t help but shakeup its own small corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at least a little bit. Marvel’s first Spotlight series released all five episodes on Tuesday night, but it isn’t until the final moments of the series the show makes its own ripples. In usual Marvel fashion, the reveal came during a brief mid-credits scene.

The new Ultimate Spider-Man is here, and as promised, it stars a very different version of Peter Parker who is married to Mary Jane Watson, with two kids. Along with Peter and MJ, the new Ultimate Spider-Man #1 checks in with many of the most well known Spider-Man supporting characters and sets up Peter's new origin.

Madame Web, Sony's next addition to its Spider-Man universe, is fast approaching but we've seen fairly little of the movie so far, including lead Dakota Johnson's super suit.  Until now, that is.
