Silent Hill fans are finally being treated to new games. It was a long, dormant period where fans were not given anything regarding a substantial new game release. Fortunately, that time has ended, and we have new content to play through. While the big main releases are still in the works, a shorter free title was launched recently. 

A fan's video has shown what a Silent Hill 3 remake could look like if it were made in Unreal Engine 5. The powerful game engine is available to the public, and is often used for both brand new projects as well as demonstrating what a game like Silent Hill 3 could look like in modern times.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno announced some good news for fans anticipating the Silent Hill 2 remake, stating a release date will be announced soon. There have been a number of rumors surrounding Silent Hill 2, with gamers being given possible release windows of Bloober Team's upcoming classic Konami horror game remake. Many of them have stated that Silent Hill 2 will likely be released sometime this year, which may appear to be the case if Babieno is to be believed.

GameStop has potentially revealed that the Silent Hill 2 remake will be releasing in late 2024. Fans have been waiting years for the Silent Hill 2 remake, with many asking for it well before it was even officially announced. The latest official word on the game is that it's due for release at some point in 2024, but some recent happenings led survival-horror fans to believe that they could potentially be playing it in the very near future.

When it was unveiled that Silent Hill would have a resurgence, fans of the franchise were likely hesitant. Several modern attempts at the franchise didn’t quite yet the strides that the original Team Silent was able to provide. However, there was also the confirmation that the new selection of games included Silent Hill 2, a remake from Bloober Team. 

When it comes to Silent Hill, fans have been in a void for years. There were no new games that had players excited about the franchise. You can argue that some of the more recent installments at the time were far from fans’ expectations. As a result, it was a surprise after such a long gap in titles that Konami unveiled several games in the works. Last month, one of those game projects, Silent Hill: The Short Message, was a surprise drop for PlayStation 5 players. 

Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele's newly-announced game,, seems to have a lot in common with his canceled project. Announced at The Game Awards 2023,, like almost all Kojima's games before it, immediately attracted a lot of speculation. His reputation precedes him, but it's well deserved. Kojima is credited with the invention of the modern stealth game in 1987's, and all his other games since have attempted to break boundaries in a variety of different ways.

It’s been years since Konami had any sort of meaningful involvement in major AAA game development, though the company is, of course, looking to re-enter the space with a number of upcoming major projects, including multiple Silent Hill games.

For almost two decades, the franchise has not had the best of luck with critical or commercial reception — for good reason, the last outstanding game released under the banner was arguably back in 2004. Although this may change with three upcoming games and a movie, the latest release,, as well as a steady stream of disheartening rumors has made it a terrible time to be a fan.

As development continues on theupcoming remake of , the game's pre-order information has revealed that it will seemingly include an origin story for one of the game's most iconic villains, Pyramid Head — which, unfortunately, has a good chance of turning out poorly. One of the all-time classics of the survival horror genre, is likely the most notorious and well-known game in the franchise, going on to inspire several other horror games with its unique atmosphere and storytelling. More recently, however, a remake of the title has been announced to be in development under the studio Bloober Team, setting off doubts from many long-time fans of the series.

Konami currently has three Silent Hill games in production that we know of in an official capacity, with Silent Hill f, Silent Hill: Townfall, and a remake of Silent Hill 2, though interestingly enough, it seems the latter might not be the only remake in the series that’s in development.

Six new character posters for have been revealed ahead of the release of the first interactive series in the franchise. The new product works around Konami’s classic survival horror series but has a completely different approach when compared to previous titles. This will not be a game in the original sense, but a collaborative interactive streaming experience shared by players worldwide. To some extent, there are similarities between and Netflix’s, but there are also important differences.

Remedy Entertainment is set to deliver its first full-fledged survival horror title when Alan Wake 2 launches later this month, and there’s no shortage of excitement around the brand of horror that the acclaimed studio will deliver. Remedy has previously said that its primary focus has been on building atmosphere and slow-paced dread rather than peppering the experience with jump scares, and in a recent interview with GamingBolt, game director Kyle Rowley touched on that once more.

It’s unclear how long it will be until gets an official launch date, but there are plenty of fantastic horror games to play during the wait. The survival horror genre has been experiencing something of a renaissance in recent years, much like the initial surge the genre had when the series was just getting started. This rebirth is set to continue with the remake, among other upcoming titles that fans will likely also want to get their hands on, but there is a lot to play that’s already on many of the digital marketplaces.

We could be hearing more about the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake from Konami anytime now, as a new Steam backend update is one of many puzzle pieces that may just complete a picture that gives us more details about the remake of one of the horror genre’s best games.

Silent Hill: Ascension will be out in time for the spookiness of Halloween. After a recent listing on the Google Play Store spilled the beans on an October 31 launch date for the interactive streaming series, its release has now been officially announced by Genvid Entertainment and Konami.

Silent Hill: Ascension will launch for desktop browser, iOS via App Store, and Android via Google Play on October 31, developer Genvid announced. The live world premiere will occur at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET.

Pre-registrations have gone live for Konami's Silent Hill: Ascension, an interactive drama for mobiles - I know, shush, I'm sure it'll come to PCs eventually - which follows a cast of characters around the world who are being tormented by monsters from the eponymous Town of Woe.

Genvid Entertainment, the company behind the upcoming Silent Hill: Ascension interactive streaming series, announced today that it's got another one in the works based on Gearbox's hit Borderlands shooters. Borderlands EchoVision Live will follow the adventures of eight tourists on a Vault Hunter «adventure safari» who—big surprise!—find themselves marooned on the very hostile world of Eden-6.

A new Borderlands game was announced at San Diego Comic-Con, though it's unlike anything fans of the series will have played before. Instead of shooting and looting, players will watch a story unfold, as Borderlands EchoVision Live is a new "social interactive series" that will let the audience decide what the outcome of the story will be. Think of it as a massively multiplayer Telltale game, or Black Mirror: Bandersnatch that came out on Netflix way back in 2018.
