Two decades after its release, Silent Hill 3 fans have noticed a hidden detail in the Hilltop Centre that even its art director, Masahiro Ito, had forgotten about.
Although most fans probably think of Silent Hill 2 as the series at its best, there's also a lot of love for its sequel, Silent Hill 3. Heather Mason is arguably just as iconic as James Sunderland is in the horror genre and, while it's not talked about nearly as much as its predecessor, the third game in the series is still considered an all-time great. In fact, it's somehow still being dissected to this day, with fans having only just discovered a hidden detail in the Hilltop Centre that even the game's art director forgot about.

A few hours into Silent Hill 3, players find themselves exploring Hilltop Center, an office building where Heather ends up running into more creatures from the Otherworld. One memorable scene in that chapter sees Heather interacting with a bathtub that quickly fills up with blood, sending her into the Otherworld.
One question that fans might have had about that scene is how the bathtub is meant to be filling up with blood, as there's no clue reason why the blood is suddenly appearing. Although you might write it off as something supernatural, Twitter user silent_facts might have found the answer by manipulating the game's camera and taking a look at the environment.
As shown in their tweet, there's actually a bloody cord running from the bathtub all the way to a body just a few rooms over, one that you wouldn't see unless you took the camera under the floorboards, where the cord runs and connects to the body. There's also another cord coming out of the body that is connected to the showers in the same room as the bathtub, implying that the blood is used for more than a relaxing bath.
It's a really interesting detail that really shows how much thought went into Silent Hill 3's level design, even if not all of it can be seen. It's such a hidden detail that it's one that even the game's art director, Masahiro Ito, had forgotten about, as he tweeted in surprise that the cords had finally been noticed.
Over the course of a few tweets, Ito said, "I built the room. Finally, someone just noticed the bloody cords. There are still more unrecognized details in that game. It took 20 years. I totally forgot abt the bloody cords". The discovery really seems to have taken Ito by surprise, as he even took the time to thank the silent_facts for pointing the cords out.
