Six new character posters for have been revealed ahead of the release of the first interactive series in the franchise. The new product works around Konami’s classic survival horror series but has a completely different approach when compared to previous titles. This will not be a game in the original sense, but a collaborative interactive streaming experience shared by players worldwide. To some extent, there are similarities between and Netflix’s, but there are also important differences.

If you've been looking at the current crop of Silent Hill sequels, remakes and remasters and pining for the foggy streets and busted doorknobs of yesteryear, I recommend trying the demo for Heartworm. A new Silent Hill: Ascension trailer just dropped. The nearly two-minute-long video gives us some more insight into some of the characters in the upcoming interactive streaming event, though probably leaves us with more questions than answers.

Today, a new premiere trailer was released, giving us more insight into the interactive series.

Genvid’s interactive streaming series Silent Hill: Ascension will have weekly episodes on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Bravia Core app for Bravia TVs, and Xperia app on select Xperia smartphones as part of a deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

It’s been more than a hot minute since we’ve had a Silent Hill game. Last year’s announcement that the series was making a return caused joy (and a bit of relief) in many fans’ hearts. As well as brand-new interactive series, we’re also getting a remake of Silent Hill 2, and some updates on Steam suggest we may hear more about this project soon.

Konami unveiled last year that Silent Hill was going to make a return in a massive way. After years of dormancy, fans had waited for any new signs of life when it came to the beloved survival horror franchise. So it was quite a surprise that when Konami did reveal the return for the IP, several projects were in the works. One of the biggest titles from the batch of new reveals is a remake of arguably the best installment of the entire franchise, Silent Hill 2. However, details about the game have still been tightly sealed shut behind Konami and the developers handling the project, Bloober Team.

There are currently three Silent Hill games we know about in the works. There's Bloober Team's remake of Silent Hill 2, a prequel set in Japan called Silent Hill F, and No Code's Silent Hill: Townfall. But there's also a game-adjacent project called Silent Hill: Ascension being made by Genvid Entertainment, an interactive streaming series where viewers can vote to decide how parts of the story turn out.

“Where the hell is the Silent Hill 2 remake?” is a question many of us have asked in recent months, with updates on the survival horror title having dried up entirely since its announcement a year ago. It seems, however, that Konami and developer Bloober Team may be planning another look at the game in the near future.

It’s unclear how long it will be until gets an official launch date, but there are plenty of fantastic horror games to play during the wait. The survival horror genre has been experiencing something of a renaissance in recent years, much like the initial surge the genre had when the series was just getting started. This rebirth is set to continue with the remake, among other upcoming titles that fans will likely also want to get their hands on, but there is a lot to play that’s already on many of the digital marketplaces.

We could be hearing more about the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake from Konami anytime now, as a new Steam backend update is one of many puzzle pieces that may just complete a picture that gives us more details about the remake of one of the horror genre’s best games.

Silent Hill: Ascension will be out in time for the spookiness of Halloween. After a recent listing on the Google Play Store spilled the beans on an October 31 launch date for the interactive streaming series, its release has now been officially announced by Genvid Entertainment and Konami.

Silent Hill: Ascension will launch for desktop browser, iOS via App Store, and Android via Google Play on October 31, developer Genvid announced. The live world premiere will occur at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET.

Pre-registrations have gone live for Konami's Silent Hill: Ascension, an interactive drama for mobiles - I know, shush, I'm sure it'll come to PCs eventually - which follows a cast of characters around the world who are being tormented by monsters from the eponymous Town of Woe.

A couple of months after the last trailer, we now have another look at the upcoming Silent Hill: Ascension. Shown exclusively to San Diego Comic-Con attendees, this latest trailer serves to hammer home the overall tone of the upcoming interactive narrative game. But despite being the first Silent Hill game in over a decade, fans aren't impressed, with the new trailer leaving them more concerned than hyped.

The team behind the mysterious «interactive streaming series» Silent Hill: Ascension is also working on a similar project for Borderlands.

Genvid Entertainment, the company behind the upcoming Silent Hill: Ascension interactive streaming series, announced today that it's got another one in the works based on Gearbox's hit Borderlands shooters. Borderlands EchoVision Live will follow the adventures of eight tourists on a Vault Hunter «adventure safari» who—big surprise!—find themselves marooned on the very hostile world of Eden-6.

A new Borderlands game was announced at San Diego Comic-Con, though it's unlike anything fans of the series will have played before. Instead of shooting and looting, players will watch a story unfold, as Borderlands EchoVision Live is a new "social interactive series" that will let the audience decide what the outcome of the story will be. Think of it as a massively multiplayer Telltale game, or Black Mirror: Bandersnatch that came out on Netflix way back in 2018.

Silent Hill fans were waiting for what felt like ages to see Konami pick the franchise back up. We went years with silence before it was unveiled that Hideo Kojima was picking up the franchise and delivering his own take on the IP. That, of course, didn’t go well, and the famed developer left Konami, which prompted the cancellation of his Silent Hill project and another hiatus begun. Fortunately, that finally came to an end last year. Several Silent Hill projects were revealed during a special Konami broadcast.

Following yet another discussion on what Silent Hill 2 ending is canonical, series art director Masahiro Ito has claimed that every single ending is canon if you want it to be, even the dog one.
