Silent Hill: Ascension premieres on October 31st

Six new character posters for have been revealed ahead of the release of the first interactive series in the franchise. The new product works around Konami’s classic survival horror series but has a completely different approach when compared to previous titles. This will not be a game in the original sense, but a collaborative interactive streaming experience shared by players worldwide. To some extent, there are similarities between and Netflix’s, but there are also important differences.

A new Silent Hill: Ascension trailer just dropped. The nearly two-minute-long video gives us some more insight into some of the characters in the upcoming interactive streaming event, though probably leaves us with more questions than answers.

After a long hiatus, we’re about to experience an explosion of Silent Hill releases. From the official remake of the second game to brand-new entries, Konami’s iconic horror series is finally making a comeback. Along with these is Silent Hill: Ascension, which has just released its premiere trailer.

Genvid has released a new trailer for Silent Hill: Ascension, the interactive streaming series based on Konami’s psychological horror franchise. It’s about two families in two locations – Hope’s Junction in Pennsylvania and Stilledalen in Norway – as they deal with the deaths of those close to them. Check it out below.

The big return for the Silent Hill franchise is upon us. Fans for the IP had waited for what felt like an eternity to get their hands on a new game. Konami had kept this franchise dormant ever since the split between Hideo Kojima and the studio. That departure resulted in Silent Hills being scrapped. But last year, we got word of Silent Hill making a massive return with several video game projects in the works. Our first game back into the IP is coming at the end of this month with the release of Silent Hill: Ascension. Today, a new premiere trailer was released, giving us more insight into the interactive series.

Genvid’s interactive streaming series Silent Hill: Ascension will have weekly episodes on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Bravia Core app for Bravia TVs, and Xperia app on select Xperia smartphones as part of a deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Genvid Entertainment and Konami Digital Entertainment said the interactive streaming series Silent Hill: Ascension will debut on Halloween.

Konami’s revival of the Silent Hill franchise kicks off with a new project called Silent Hill: Ascension on Oct. 31, giving horror fans some fresh Halloween night entertainment. The interactive streaming series will let viewers decide the fate of its protagonists as they confront their painful pasts and discover what has brought them into the foggy, terrifying world of Silent Hill.

Genvid has released the official premiere trailer and key artwork for Silent Hill: Ascension, as well as announced its partnership with Sony Picture Entertainment to carry weekly packaged episodes of the audience-influenced storylines on the Sony Pictures Core app for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Bravia Core app for Bravia TVs, and Bravia Core for Xperia app on select Xperia smartphones.

Silent Hill Ascension will premiere on Halloween, aka October 31st, at 9pm ET/6pm PT, Konami has confirmed. For UK folks, that is 1am GMT on November 1st.  The first episode of the live series, where the audience determine the story and the canon of the Silent Hill franchise, will mark the beginning of a six month journey with a new episode dropping every day.

There are currently three Silent Hill games we know about in the works. There's Bloober Team's remake of Silent Hill 2, a prequel set in Japan called Silent Hill F, and No Code's Silent Hill: Townfall. But there's also a game-adjacent project called Silent Hill: Ascension being made by Genvid Entertainment, an interactive streaming series where viewers can vote to decide how parts of the story turn out.

“Where the hell is the Silent Hill 2 remake?” is a question many of us have asked in recent months, with updates on the survival horror title having dried up entirely since its announcement a year ago. It seems, however, that Konami and developer Bloober Team may be planning another look at the game in the near future.
