Yesterday, Meta announced Batman: Arkham Shadow, a VR-only game coming exclusively to the Meta Quest 3. Batman: Arkham Shadow is in development at Camouflaj, a developer with offices in Bellevue, Washington, and Kamakura, Japan. Camouflaj was founded in 2011 by Ryan Payton, who had previously worked at KONAMI as Assistant Producer on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

A new Guinness World Record was set during a recent Yu-Gi-Oh card game tournament in Tokyo, Japan. While the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga wasn’t always centered around the Duel Monsters card game, it has become one of the most recognizable elements of the franchise. Konami started producing a physical Yu-Gi-Oh card game back in 1999, with Upper Deck bringing it to the US in 2002. Since then, Yu-Gi-Oh has become one of the highest-selling card games in the world, spawning several video games in the process.

There have been a number of rumors surrounding Silent Hill 2, with gamers being given possible release windows of Bloober Team's upcoming classic Konami horror game remake. Many of them have stated that Silent Hill 2 will likely be released sometime this year, which may appear to be the case if Babieno is to be believed.

When are we finally going to get a release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake? The game is widely expected to launch sometime in 2024, but PR from Konami has been spotty at best. We got a somewhat-questionable trailer back in February (that even developer Bloober Team criticized as not representative of the final game) and as we head deeper into the year, there’s still a lot to be nailed down. The game’s been rated by the ESRB and there are rumors it may pop up at a PlayStation Showcase next month, but Konami themselves have remained silent.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno has provided an update on Silent Hill 2 in an IR/conference following the group’s consolidated annual report for 2023 (via MauroNL on Twitter). He noted that the team is “in the final stages of work” on the remake, and “We expect that a release date and platforms on which the game will appear will be revealed soon.”

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has added two brand-new Secret Packs to the popular digital card game, allowing players to easily pick up powerful strategies like «Floowandereeze» and «Shark.» The beloved online TCG from Konami features a variety of ways for players to acquire new cards for their favorite Master Duel decks, with both packs for players to open and a robust crafting system. Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel has regularly implemented new packs as well, adding even more cards from the TCG and OCG to the game. Now, multiple themes already in the game are getting their own packs.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, the director's cut version of Castlevania for the Nintendo 64, is a classic today despite issues like blurry graphics and wonky gameplay. Journalist Jeff Grubb recently claimed that Konami and Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake is going to be showcased at an as-yet-unannounced PlayStation event in May, and another leaker is now corroborating that.

The next PlayStation Showcase broadcast could be happening in May 2024 with news about Konami's Silent Hill 2 remake, according to one reputable insider. If the rumor is true, PlayStation fans can expect more details about upcoming PS5 titles at the Showcase as well.

The PS5 remake of Silent Hill 2 has taken one step closer to its reported 2024 release as the ESRB has handed the title a Mature age rating. Generally awarded near the completion of a game's development, the USA firm warns of blood and gore, language, sexual themes, and violence throughout the experience from Bloober Team. Eventually, the King of Fighters series, which included characters from multiple SNK games, largely supplanted Fatal Fury, but now we’re getting a Furious return. While they teased it previously, today SNK officially announced Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which will combine classic gameplay with the new “REV” system. Much like Street Fighter 6, the new Fatal Fury will also introduce a more casual “Smart Style” mode that will allow you to easily pull off special moves. It's tough to get a read on the current state of the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake, which is being developed by Bloober Team, published by Konami, and supposedly launching later this year. Surfacing at Sony's recent State of Play showcase, long-suffering fans were subjected to a combat trailer which seemed out of touch with the series's more cerebral roots.

Silent Hill fans are finally being treated to new games. It was a long, dormant period where fans were not given anything regarding a substantial new game release. Fortunately, that time has ended, and we have new content to play through. While the big main releases are still in the works, a shorter free title was launched recently.

Yoshitaka Murayama, the creator of the classic JRPG franchise Suikoden and the director of its spiritual successor series Eiyuden Chronicle, has died. He had apparently been fighting an unspecified illness, which led to his untimely passing in the middle of the development of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

The creator of Suikoden and Eiyuden Chronicles, Yoshitaka Murayama, died on February 6 due to “complications with an ongoing illness,” as announced by his company, Rabbit and Bear Studios.

The Silent Hill 2 remake's State of Play combat trailer doesn't give a full and proper representation of the game, Bloober Team's president Piotr Babieno has observed in an apparent swipe at publisher Konami, who Babieno portrays as responsible for the upcoming horror game's marketing. If you missed it, the trailer in question focuses on the "modernised" combat. It shows alleged "everyman" protagonist James Sunderland getting all Gears of Warry with some maggoty marionettes and rancid demon nurses.
