A new rumor suggests that PlayStation Plus might add classic titles from Rockstar, Konami, and Cyan Worlds sometime in the future. The PlayStation Plus possibility is nothing more than a rumor at this point, but its evidence is intriguing.
PlayStation Plus regularly adds new games that often cover all the bases, whether it be AAA titles, indie projects, or classic games available in the Premium tier. Earlier in March, PS Plus' Essential tier added F1 23, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Hello Neighbor 2, and Sifu. On March 19, the Plus and Extra tiers add NBA 2K24, the Resident Evil 3 remake, Marvel's Midnight Suns, and more. As fans await these new titles, a new rumor has emerged that might hint at some of the subscription's future games.
Reddit user TURB0_THUNDER posted a thread to the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit that outlined their theory. They noticed that on the website of Implicit Conversions, which created the emulator that Sony uses for PS1 and PSP games ported to its modern consoles, there is a list of all the gaming studios that Implicit has worked with. Every company in the list already has at least one classic game ported and added to PlayStation Plus Premium, except Rockstar, Konami, and Cyan Worlds. This suggests that Implicit is working with these companies to release classic titles for PlayStation Plus Premium, although this is only speculation at this point.
The potential games from the trio of companies are still entirely unknown, but TURB0_THUNDER guesses them to be Rockstar'sGrand Theft Auto 1 and 2 and Cyan's Myst and Riven. They claimed that Konami is more of a wildcard, making an accurate guess difficult, but other users expressed their hopes for classics like Silent Hill, Bloody Roar, and Suikoden 3 to be ported to PS Plus. However, these are nothing more than guesses until Sony makes an announcement regarding the unconfirmed rumor.
Sony continues to add classic games to PS Plus' Premium tier, like February's additions of Resistance: Retribution, Jet Moto 2, Tales of Symphonia Remastered, and Tales of Vesperia. On March 19, Premium adds five more classics that include Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, Cool Boarders, and Gods Eater Burst.
A previous PS Plus rumor from January suggests that Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare is coming to Premium as well. As its name implies, the 2001 PlayStation title is a horror game and its 2008 sequel is already available on PS Plus.
The PlayStation, sometimes known as the PS1 or PS One was Sony's first formal foray into the console wars with Nintendo. It belonged to the fifth-generation of video game consoles and locked horns with the Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn.

As is the case every month, PlayStation Plus is changing its roster of games in April, giving players new titles that they can add to their libraries and keep for as long as they're subscribed. If there’s one thing PlayStation Plus Premium is missing it’s a good library of PS2 classics. Since Sony relaunched PS Plus in 2022 with multiple tiers, it feels like those paying top whack for the online service have been short-changed when it comes to the lineup of older PlayStation games being emulated on PS4 and PS5.
