Silent Hill 2 has been rated in Korea.
As spotted by Gematsu, the game has been rated by the Korean ratings board, suggesting news about the game’s release could be imminent.
The Silent Hill 2 remake, which is being developed by Bloober Team, was first announced in 2022, but updates have been sparse since then. The studio recently asked that fans be patient as it continues to work on the game.
Following a recent trailer for the game, the president of developer Bloober Team claimed that it wasn’t an accurate representation of the game.
In an interview with Polish investor news channel Inwestorzy.tv – the video for which appears to have been taken offline but was spotted and transcribed by Eurogamer Poland – Bloober Team president Piotr Babieno was asked about the reaction to the trailer.
Babieno replied that the latest trailer wasn’t representative of the game Bloober Team is working on, and that he understood the negative comments being directed at the game based on the trailer.
“I wrote those negative comments myself,” Babieno reportedly joked, saying: “In all seriousness, we are not responsible for the marketing side.”
Referring to Konami, he added: “That is entirely the responsibility of our partner. Certainly, this trailer does not reflect the spirit of the game.
“It is not the spirit of either what it used to be or what we are creating now. We are trying to fully reflect this romantic vision about the game, which debuted 22 years ago.
“We think that when players see the real gameplay, the real game, they will judge it in a completely different way.”
A week after Korea’s Game Rating and Administration Committee gave Star Wars Outlaws a 19+ rating, Australia has also published their rating for the game.

The CEO of Larian Studios and director of its hit game Baldur’s Gate 3 has blamed corporate greed for the high number of mass layoffs in the video games industry.
Bloober Team and Konami’s Silent Hill 2 remake didn’t exactly put its best foot forward with its combat-focused trailer earlier in the year (a sentiment that even Bloober Team agrees with), but even though the game has attracted some skepticism, given its significance to fans of the Silent Hill franchise, it continues to be one that many are hoping to hear more about soon. And it seems like Konami might be preparing to kickstart that process.

Back then, the team was led by former Age of Empires and World of Warcraft designer Greg Street, who has since left Riot to found his own studio and start another MMO project; for more about that, head to my lengthy interview with Greg.
