Bloober Team has said it’s “very confident” in its upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake.
As part of the studio’s annual report, the team claimed that it is “very confident about the final result,” (translated by @pl_evil).
“We don’t hide it internally or externally – this is the most important test of our actions,” the report continued.
The Silent Hill 2 remake has been the subject of much debate since its announcement, and a second trailer in January 2024 which focused on combat did nothing to quell it.
This second trailer proved divisive, and currently only has 51% likes vs dislikes on YouTube.
The following month, Bloober Team president Piotr Babienosaid the trailer “does not reflect the spirit of the game”, saying the marketing side of things was Konami‘s responsibility.
“It is not the spirit of either what it used to be or what we are creating now,” Babieno said. “We are trying to fully reflect this romantic vision about the game, which debuted 22 years ago.
“We think that when players see the real gameplay, the real game, they will judge it in a completely different way.”
A screenshot of the game that was recently added to the backend of the game’s SteamDB page appears to show thatBloober Team has given its protagonist a makeover to make him look younger.

Twitter user pl_evil has helpfully translated a recent letter to shareholders from Bloober Team, showing that their new game "Project C" will be revealed later this year. This will be the studio's next original game, after they wrapped up Layers Of Fear last year with, confusingly, Layers Of Fear (the natural progression for a series: Layers Of Fear, Layers Of Fear 2, and then Layers Of Fear again, although it was going to be called Layers Of Fears at one point).
Bloober Team has plenty of irons in the fire, with Silent Hill 2’s long anticipated remake being the game that the studio is currently focused on most, but it looks like it will soon begin talking about its other projects as well.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno announced some good news for fans anticipating the Silent Hill 2 remake, stating a release date will be announced soon. There have been a number of rumors surrounding Silent Hill 2, with gamers being given possible release windows of Bloober Team's upcoming classic Konami horror game remake. Many of them have stated that Silent Hill 2 will likely be released sometime this year, which may appear to be the case if Babieno is to be believed.
