Nightdive Studios has confirmed the console release date for System Shock Remake, with the game heading to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on May 21st. The game was release for PC in May last year, so console players have been waiting almost a year to get their hands on it.

System Shock fans who lack a gaming PC will be able to play the remake of the first game pretty soon. A new trailer for the System Shock remake console ports revealed that the game will be released on May 21, 2024, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Atlus has explained why Persona 3 Reload is getting downloadable content a month after it promised the game "offers a complete experience".

Blizzard has released a new trailer for an upcoming collaboration between Cowboy Bebop and Overwatch 2, beginning on March 12th! Has there ever been a better time to be a fan of survival horror games? Since the beginning of last year, the likes of Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Dead Space Remake all scared us witless. But the horror rollercoaster is still charging away as later this month, we have the return of a horror icon.

Persona 3 Reload, Atlus’ flashy, smash-hit remake of the pivotal PS2 game that cleared the way for Persona 5, was notable for what it was missing. Before the game even came out, fans and journalists wondered if the remake would include later additions to the original game, and the answer was, bafflingly, no. However, “no,” it turns out is not “never,” and one of those big omissions will soon debut in Reload in the game’s just-announced Expansion Pass.

We've barely had enough time to properly sink our teeth into Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but one of its directors has already confirmed that a good chunk of work on the third and final part of the Remake trilogy is already complete. 

Don't expect any of the games in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, including the recently-released Rebirth, to come to Xbox, as Sony has secured the trilogy as a PlayStation console exclusive.

NIS America has given Trails through Daybreak a confirmed release date. Previously, the Falcom RPG was simply slated for 'summer 2024', but now it's locked in for the 5th July. The title also has a new English trailer, which you can watch above.

Capcom will host a showcase spanning two days across the next week, the publisher has announced. Titled 'Capcom Highlights', the first event takes place on the 7th March at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm GMT, while the second show kicks off on the 11th March at 3pm PT / 6pm ET / 11pm GMT. Early signs suggest that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will struggle to match Final Fantasy 7 Remake in terms of commercial success. Although admittedly, we don't have much data to work with right now. According to Games Industry's Christopher Dring, who often outlines key sales info, the recently released sequel is down 30% on its predecessor's launch week figures. It did still manage to top the UK charts, mind.

Square Enix issued an unexpected PS5, PS4 patch for Final Fantasy VII Remake yesterday, which upon close inspection by fans, reveals the final voiceline spoken by Aerith has been changed. Rather than looking up to the sky and explaining «I miss it. The steel sky.», she now remarks: «This sky… I don't like it.» You can see the change in the video above. A more literal description of how Aerith is feeling and what she sees up above, fans are trying to work out if the change actually means anything.

Sony has confirmed that «some» unannounced games in development within PlayStation Studios have been cancelled as a result of the decision to lay off around 900 employees. In a separate article from Hermen Hulst, it's explained: «We looked at our studios and our portfolio, evaluating projects in various stages of development, and have decided that some of those projects will not move forward.»

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and expands on the original PS1 plot as Cloud and co leave Midgar for adventures anew. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth feels like a natural progression. Free from the steel skies of Midgar and its corridor-style design, this direct sequel to 2020's Final Fantasy 7 Remake fully embraces that sense of adventure found in the original Final Fantasy 7, as Cloud Strife and his ragtag group took their first few steps out onto the sprawling world map. Rebirth goes big in terms of scope and scale — but it doesn't always stick the landing.

Years before becoming a household name thanks to a hilarious, impassioned speech at The Game Awards, Josef Fares — alongside Starbreeze — was already releasing quality games. His first venture, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, is an emotional excursion that sees two brothers set out on a dire journey. Now, Avantgarden Games has taken up the task of remaking the 10-year-old game. But has it held up? In a contemporary setting, does Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake still offer the same level of emotional weight and mechanical mastery that the original did all those years ago? Well, the answer to that is: sometimes.

Saber Interactive, one of Embracer Group's largest development houses, will reportedly be sold off in a transaction worth $500 million. The company, which itself comprises more than 20 studios, will be sold to private investors after the deal closes. This will be the latest action from Embracer in its huge restructuring plan. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a beautiful but bloated tribute to the original game, and part of that excess includes a large cast of characters that draws upon the larger world of Final Fantasy 7 media. At this point, it’s getting to be a bit like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, because Rebirth adds several characters who never appeared in the original, but did in some of the spinoffs. If you’ve just played either the original Final Fantasy 7 or Final Fantasy 7 Remake, then Rebirth can get confusing at points, since some characters from other games just show up out of the blue.
