System Shock Remake Is Coming to Consoles This May

The Blue Reflection Sun shutdown is set for May 30, 2024. In the meantime, the developers are offering a final hurrah for players with new content and events. Here is everything we know so far-

Cyberpunk 2077 will be available to play at no cost as part of a limited trial over the coming weekend, according to developer CD Projekt Red. The popular game will be free to play for a few hours on current generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony, but not for PC gamers. You will have access to the base Cyberpunk 2077 game — which will need to be downloaded in its entirety in order to access the trial. The Phantom Liberty expansion won't be part of the trial this weekend.

Today, CD Projekt RED announced that a free Cyberpunk 2077 trial will be available for a limited time later this week on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles.

Four years after its original announcement, developer MidBoss has revealed the sequel to 2064: Read Only Memories, titled Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER, will finally launch for PS5 on 16th May 2024. It will cost £12.79 / $14.99 and releases predominantly as a digital title on the PS Store, though a physical version is available for pre-order at Serenity Forge. While a PS4 version had been confirmed previously, it's mentioned nowhere in today's press assets, so it's likely been cancelled.

One-man developer Shared Memory has announced Animal Well will launch for PS5 on 9th May 2024. It'll cost £20.99 / $24.99 at release.

About a year and a half after the Riven remake's announcement, Cyan Worlds revealed today that the game will launch later this year on PC with support for VR platforms.

Cyan Worlds today announced plans to launch their fancy real-time 3D remake of Riven later this year, coming with support for both VR cybergoggles and standard meatspace screens. Riven: The Sequel To Myst was the 1997 sequel to Myst, the 1993 pre-rendered adventure game which sold a million CD-ROM drives and launched a thousand specks of spittle from John Walker's mouth. The remake previously had a longwinded name of its own, Riven: New Discoveries Of The Lost D'ni Empire, but now is simply named Riven. They should rebrand again and call it Riven: The Sequel To The Myst Remake.

Entering development all the way back in 2010 before being officially announced a couple years later, Cloud Imperium Games’ massive space-faring MMO Star Citizen has been one of gaming’s most curious stories for years. Nightdive Studios' remake is coming to consoles. After a successful 2016 Kickstarter that raised over $1.3 million, the title was released on PC in March last year. Despite having a long and troubled development cycle and being delayed several times, the remake was extremely well-received by fans and critics alike, with most praising it for staying true to the beloved 1994 game while bringing it up to modern standards.

V Rising's two years of early access development are almost at an end; Stunlock Studios has announced its acclaimed vampire survival game will get its 1.0 release for PC on 17th may, with a PlayStation 5 release to follow later this year.

After two years slumbering in the coffin of early access, vampire survival game V Rising is lifting off the lid and rising into a full 1.0 release. Having previously been announced with a somewhat vague Q2 launch window, we now know exactly when V Rising’s 1.0 release date will be: May 8th.
