Trails through Daybreak Release Date Set for July on PS5, PS4 | Push Square

The second expansion for Final Fantasy 16, titled The Rising Tide, now has an official launch date. It arrives on the 18th April, and costs $19.99 if you're buying it by itself. The Expansion Pass, priced at $24.99, gets you this second DLC and the previously released Echoes of the Fallen.

Rise of the Ronin, the latest tentpole PS5 console exclusive from legendary Japanese developer Team Ninja, has been subject to a colossal marketing push in Asia, where posters and billboards have been spotted around cities such as Taipei for several weeks now. That’s all culminated in an Edo period art exhibition in Huashan 1914 Creative Park – coincidentally, the former home of a Japanese sake manufacturer– where Sony has installed several 19th-century props inspired by the game.

With The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak launching this Summer for PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch, NIS America is rolling out new trailers for each member of its core cast. The first focused on protagonist Van Arkride, a Spriggan operating in Edith, while the latest briefly showcases Agnès Claudel. Check it out below.

Memories Off is a long-running series of romantic novels which first debuted on the PlayStation in 1999. Despite spawning multiple sequels, and being localised into languages like Korean and Traditional Chinese, it’s never actually launched in Western territories – well, until now. PQube is on the case, with SINce Memories: Off the Starry Sky targeting a 2024 launch on the PS4.

Fortunately, it looks like the release is poised to receive its first Japanese add-on, in the form of the Tadami Line, in-development at external studio Union Workshop.

Out later this week in Japan, publisher Red Art Games has announced that it’s bringing MACROSS Shooting Insight to PS5 and PS4 in North America and Europe later this year, marking the first time a tie-in based on the 80s anime franchise has officially launched in the West. The game, a multi-dimensional shooter, has been developed by Kaminari Games, who’s perhaps best known for the brilliant Raiden V: Director’s Cut.

According to all rumours and reports, Sony is working on its own reconstruction technology similar to DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling. The feature, named PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution according to Insider Gaming, seems like a long-term play by the platform holder, with the first iteration planned for the PS5 Pro.

A May 9 release date for Crow Country has been confirmed for the PS5 and PC. Fans of horror games, especially popular franchises like Resident Evil, may want to check out this game coming to PS5. Crow Country was created by SBF Games, a British indie developer company comprised of two brothers, Tom and Adam Vian. Switch gamers may recognize SBF games for one of the system's launch titles, Snipperclips. SBF's collection of games offers variety in tone and style, and this new entry will continue the studio's tendency to offer something different.

Crow Country, the retro survival horror game from the developer of Snipperclips!, now has a release date: 9th May across both Steam and PlayStation 5.

Looks like Microsoft’s decision to port live service Xbox exclusive Sea of Thieves to PS5 is unlikely to land the company in choppy waters, as the title is currently making a charge on the PS Store’s pre-order charts. At the time of typing, the Rare sailing escapade occupies several spots on PlayStation’s upcoming best-sellers list, including the number one position above heavy hitters like Dragon’s Dogma 2, Rise of the Ronin, and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.

Here’s the rub: Metroidvanias are dime a dozen these days. We’ve only just got done with the exceptional Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, and now Surgent Studios is following it up with Tales of Kenzera: ZAU on 23rd April. This is being billed as a “heartfelt” adventure about the “transformative power of loss”, as you assume the role of a grieving hero hellbent on bringing back your father from the dead.
