The second expansion for Final Fantasy 16, titled The Rising Tide, now has an official launch date. It arrives on the 18th April, and costs $19.99 if you're buying it by itself. The Expansion Pass, priced at $24.99, gets you this second DLC and the previously released Echoes of the Fallen.
Expectations for The Rising Tide are fairly high. The aforementioned Echoes of the Fallen is a short expansion that basically consists of an additional dungeon and a straightforward storyline, but this second DLC is set to be much bigger in scope, as Clive journeys to an entirely new, explorable area. Our gravel-voiced hero will also earn brand new abilities based on the forgotten water Eikon, Leviathan.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.
I have been meaning to go back for a NG+ run. Beat it last summer and definitely would like to check out the new zones.
As expected, it's Leviathan time. Trailer was pretty great, looking forward to this.
Looks promising. The question will be if the ending changes now, considering he gets Leviathans Power.
It looks fantastic! I've always been waiting for this since announce DLCs trailer.
Rebirth really highlights how lacking FF16 actually is, other then the boss fights and incredible music score it really was a big disappointment for me.
Wow. This is far too long after the game released. In fact, this type of thing puts me off buying games anywhere near release.
God I hope FF17 has something similar to eikonic abilities. As much as I love FF7 Rebirth. Combat moves aren't anywhere near as cool or satisfying to pull off. Not even synergy abilities which I actually think were poorly implemented into the game
Looks superb.
FFXVI was my GotY and still my Game of the Gen so far.
Super stoked to get back to my boi Clive Rosfield.
I hope its a beefy one.
Glad to finally have a release date on it. Can't wait to jump back into FF16!
Can’t wait for this. To my own complete surprise Final Fantasy XVI is my favourite PS5 game yet. Though I’m only on chapter 4 in Rebirth and I guess things could change.
Looks stunning, but damn, the Japanese have the worst HUD. It's so big and so blatant. Never in a million year would I get immersed in these types of games. Almost as bad as Ubisoft HUD.
Looks amazing! Glad I’ve held off Echoes as combined, this should be a meaty and enjoyable foray back
