Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered Starring Lara Croft (we're still not quite over that title) has just received a meaty new patch, and it's available to download now on PS5 and PS4. The headline addition is a new outfit for Lara, but beyond that is a huge laundry list of fixes and improvements.

If the new Alone in the Dark PS5 reboot has given you a classic survival horror itch, then Sony's subscription service PS Plus Premium is looking to scratch it. Available from Tuesday, 16th April 2024, the old PS1 terror Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare will be available to members on the top tier, complete with all the bells and whistles that come with the re-releases Sony accepts on the service. It's joined by MediEvil and Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire on the same day.

The immortal SEGA brawler Golden Axe is being resurrected as a comedic animated series, of all things. Ordered by Comedy Central and produced by CBS Studios in collaboration with Sony Pictures, the series will undoubtedly feature buxom men and women battling dragons and various beasts, and presumably, hilarity will ensue.

As if there was much doubting it at this point, the copyright claim of a YouTube video, which has resulted in its removal, points towards all of the PS5 Pro leaks being accurate. The video in question was posted by the channel Moore's Law Is Dead, and it had a hand in kickstarting the leaks that have since surrounded Sony's upgraded console. The copyright claim was, of course, filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment — and so it's easy to conclude that the information was bang on, at least to some extent.

Fallout 4 launches its native PS5 version on 25th April 2024, but if you want to make that upgrade as cheap as possible, you might want to take a look at the current PS Store spring sale. Both the base PS4 game and all of its DLC are on sale at the cheapest prices they've ever been, and the offers expire the day before the PS5 version releases. As such, paying now will ensure you get the most amount of content for the cheapest price.

If you regularly use a PS5 or PS4, there's very little reason not to be using PS Stars. This rewards programme, currently only accessible via the PlayStation mobile app, rewards users with points for PS Store purchases, as well as neat little digital collectibles for completing simple campaigns. Part of the service also allows you to use your accrued points to redeem PS Store credit and, if you have enough, entire games and other digital goodies. It's these PS Stars rewards that have recently been refreshed, and there's some good stuff up for grabs — if you have the points.

Although we're still waiting on Sony's official announcement, the PS5 Pro seems to be all systems go behind the scenes. Following on from several leaks over the last few months, a new report from The Verge says that Sony is really starting to push its supercharged console, as it's currently asking development teams to make sure that their games are compatible with the new hardware — presumably ahead of its launch later in the year.

After Sony forced one-man developer Lilith Walther to rebrand their PC kart racer inspired by Bloodborne, the game has reappeared as Nightmare Kart. A new trailer can be viewed above, which confirms the title will release on PC platforms like Steam and Itch.io for free on 31st May 2024.

Sony has announced the launch of the latest version of its gaming console, the PlayStation 5 (PS5) Slim in India. The PS5 was launched globally in 2019 and was highly sought after, so much so that scalpers started reselling it on eBay for massive profits. With the shortage over and gamers enjoying a selection of excellent games, Sony has launched the latest iteration of the PS5, dubbed the PS5 Slim.

Some Helldivers 2 players are unhappy with recent changes to the Slugger weapon brought about by the game's latest update. The new Helldivers 2 patch brought some new features and balancing changes to the game's growing arsenal of weapons, once again shifting the debate over which tools are the best.

Sony and developer Shift Up have confirmed that a playable demo for Stellar Blade will launch later this week, on Friday the 29th March. Of course, we all knew this was coming — the demo was actually released several weeks early, by mistake, on the PS Store. Sony pulled it offline as quickly as it could, but not before a bunch of people played through it.
