MACROSS Shooting Insight Gearing Up for Western Release on PS5, PS4 | Push Square

Team Ninja has (rather stealthily) released two updates for Rise of the Ronin. The first of these patches (1.02) arrived on the 29th March, while the second (1.03) has only just dropped. However, if you were expecting the developer to address the title's disappointingly flexible frame rate, then you're out of luck.

The monthly PS Plus Essential update has arrived, granting all members of Sony's subscription service access to three new PS5, PS4 titles. They're available to download now across the UK and Europe, and availability will spread to the USA later on in the day. Here's what can be redeemed between now and Tuesday, 7th May 2024:

Grandia HD Collection bundles together two classic JRPG adventures from the tail-end of the genre's golden age, a series that has long since fallen by the wayside. Grandia, initially released on the SEGA Saturn, would make its way to PS1 in 1999, and its narratively unconnected but mechanically superior sequel, Grandia II, first came to Dreamcast before arriving on PS2 in 2002.

Sony doesn’t consider Gran Turismo 7 to be a live service game, but developer Polyphony Digital treats it like it is one. The game goes from strength-to-strength with each new update, and while v1.44 is on the smaller side by the series’ standards, it adds more complimentary content to an already stacked simulation racer.

Just one weekend removed from the release of Dragon's Dogma 2, Capcom has confirmed that it's working on a slew of improvements, which will be coming to the game via free updates. A lot of this stuff seems to be in direct response to player feedback, and includes overall adjustments, additional options, and performance enhancements.

There's been a lot of chatter about this Stellar Blade demo recently. First, it was released accidentally, and although Sony took it back down pretty quickly, it wasn't fast enough to stop a few people playing and sharing footage online. So, we knew a demo was coming, and it wasn't much later that we got official confirmation. Now, the time has come: it's available to download and play right now on PS5. The second expansion for Final Fantasy 16, titled The Rising Tide, now has an official launch date. It arrives on the 18th April, and costs $19.99 if you're buying it by itself. The Expansion Pass, priced at $24.99, gets you this second DLC and the previously released Echoes of the Fallen.

Rise of the Ronin, the latest tentpole PS5 console exclusive from legendary Japanese developer Team Ninja, has been subject to a colossal marketing push in Asia, where posters and billboards have been spotted around cities such as Taipei for several weeks now. That’s all culminated in an Edo period art exhibition in Huashan 1914 Creative Park – coincidentally, the former home of a Japanese sake manufacturer– where Sony has installed several 19th-century props inspired by the game.

Memories Off is a long-running series of romantic novels which first debuted on the PlayStation in 1999. Despite spawning multiple sequels, and being localised into languages like Korean and Traditional Chinese, it’s never actually launched in Western territories – well, until now. PQube is on the case, with SINce Memories: Off the Starry Sky targeting a 2024 launch on the PS4.
