Square-Enix has officially acknowledged a recently discovered bug revolving around Final Fantasy 16's New Game+ mode, resulting in a soft lock that does not allow players to progress. The launch of the newest main-series entry in the long-running RPG franchise last summer came with critical acclaim, lauded at the time as one of the best RPGs of 2023. Final Fantasy 16 received a nomination for «Best Role-Playing Game» at the 2023 Game Awards, and won the award for «Best Score and Music» during the show. Now, a new bug is plaguing fans' new playthroughs of the game.

After announcing it last month, Odd Bug Studios has released a new gameplay trailer for Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter. As a sequel to the 2001 cult classic, it sees players controlling Arlo battling through the North to defeat the Dark Wings, who have more than a taste for blood. Check it out below, courtesy of IGN.

Alan Wake 2 enjoyed widespread critical acclaim upon its launch last year, while as of the beginning of February, it had also sold over 1.3 million units worldwide, becoming Remedy Entertainment’s fastest-selling game to date. A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail is teasing the next boss coming to the Simulated Universe in Version 2.3, adding playable character Aventurine as a new challenge. Debuting with the game's launch, the Simulated Universe has become one of the most popular permanent game modes for the HoYoverse sci-fi RPG. The Simulated Universe features multiple unique worlds for players to challenge for rewards like Stellar Jades and Planar Ornaments, as well as alternate challenges like «Swarm Disaster» and «Gold and Gears.» Now, a familiar face is set to be the game mode's next boss.

Capcom has fully unveiled the upcoming DLC character Akuma for Street Fighter 6, confirming that the iconic fighter will be available to players starting May 22. Alongside the announcement, Capcom showcased Akuma's gameplay, highlighting both familiar and new moves that fans can expect from the character in Street Fighter 6.

Bandai Namco reveals a new free update roadmap full of content like stages and game modes, while also confirming that Lidia Sobieska will be joining the Tekken 8 roster as the second season 1 DLC character. It's been an interesting road for Tekken 8 since it launched in January to acclaim reviews and bypassed numerous sales milestones. In fact, Tekken 8 quickly overtook its predecessor in sales, claiming 2 million copies sold in less than 3 weeks.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has just released patch 01.000.300 addressing various aspects, including weapons, stratagems, enemies, and missions. This update aims to enhance the gameplay and address community feedback. The long patch notes cover several weapon buffs, damage balancing, increased level cap and more. The update also added new planetary hazards in Helldivers 2.

Spaceship repair simulation game Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in November, publisher Kasedo Games and developer Beard Envy announced.

Street Fighter 6 downloadable content character Akuma will launch on May 22, Capcom announced. Akuma will be unlocked for owners of the Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, or Year 1 Character Pass.

Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 has a busy year ahead, but first, there will be a balance patch this Spring. Before you count the days till it ends, the developer has confirmed that the “first battle balance adjustments” for the season are “coming soon.” Patch notes for update 1.04 will also go live tomorrow.

Genshin Impact 's version 4.7 will reportedly introduce at least four events that consist of challenges. Genshin Impact adds different types of events every month, allowing players to earn Primogems they can use to buy Intertwined Fates or purchase battle pass levels. These timed exclusive festivities offer storytelling, exploration, combat, and mini-games in which players take on waves of enemies. Some events in Genshin Impact, such as Vibro-Crystal, Misty Dungeon, and Windtrace, get their rerun once a year.

Hell, it turns out, isn't always a bubbly pool of magma where like, devils prod you with forks. There is a second hell in Helldivers 2, a hell made up of wartorn planets and soldiers who fight bile-spewing bugs and robots. And it is a hell that is subject to patches. One such update has nerfed a bunch of weapons including the popular quasar cannon. It's also increased the number of enemy patrols based on player numbers and tweaked the game's level generation, with the former making life more difficult in hell, and the latter possibly making things more interesting.

Out of nowhere, Arrowhead Game Studios has released an extensive balance patch for Helldivers 2. While it reduces burning damage by 15 percent and reduces headshot damage on those with armor ratings above 100, it offers many changes to existing weapons and Stratagems.

Honkai: Star Rail’s next big update – Version 2.2, “Then Wake to Weep” – goes live on May 8th for all platforms. It concludes the Penacony storyline as players face off against The Great Septimus of The Family. Check out the trailer below (though beware of spoilers).

Street Fighter 6’s final Year 1 DLC character, Akuma, is one that fans have been looking forward to for some time. The fan-favourite series veteran is set to close out the game’s first wave of DLC fighters sometime this spring, and Capcom has now announced a specific release date for his arrival.

Sony has announced a limited-period promotional offer that brings down the price of the newly launched PlayStation 5 slim variants in India. The “Summer Sale” offer will apply a discount of Rs. 5,000 on the PS5 slim. Starting May 1, the console will be available for Rs. 49,990, down from its retail price of Rs. 54,990. The slim variant of the PS5 was launched in India earlier this month. Sony had earlier discounted the price of the older PS5 disc-edition model by up to Rs. 13,000 following the launch of the PS5 slim.

The legendary DC Comics assassin Deathstroke has rallied to the defense of the Last City thanks to the efforts of a creative Destiny 2 player's customized costume setup. The costume uses Destiny 2 Titan armor pieces that are fairly easy to access, and cleverly repurposes pieces meant to evoke an entirely different crossover franchise.

While honing their craft in Overwatch 2's Practice Range, a player stumbled upon a strange glitch that changes standard-sized character models into stretched counterparts. This particular Overwatch 2 glitch is restricted to the Practice Range and needs the player to follow a certain movement to reproduce it.

Guilty Gear: Strive downloadable content character Slayer will launch on May 30 for $6.99 / 880 yen or as part of Season Pass 3 for $24.99 / 2,750 yen, Arc System Works announced. He is the final additional character for Season 3.

Publisher Microids and developer Ocellus Services have announced adventure platformer The Smurfs: Dreams for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store). It will launch in 2024.

Tekken 8 downloadable content character Lidia Sobieska will launch this summer as part of the game’s Season 1, Bandai Namco announced.

Sony India has announced its ‘Summer Sale' offers on the newly launched PlayStation 5 Slim (PS5 Slim). The console was launched in India on April 5 at the same price point as the existing PS5 and it has already received a price drop. The hotfixes for Moon Studios’ No Rest for the Wicked continue to roll following its launch into Steam Early Access. The sixth hotfix addresses complaints of the game feeling too dark with improvements to rim light rendering in shadows. It improves visibility in darker areas and makes the characters “feel more integrated into the environments.”

Though he has only recently joined the fight in Overwatch 2, Mauga is a hero that fans had been aware of for years prior to his appearance as a playable character, and some of his early concepts still have the potential to appear in the game as skins for the Samoan tank hero. Hades 2 developer Supergiant Games has announced that the technical test is almost over, and fans will soon be able to play the game through Early Access.
