Stellar Blade Settings Change Could Make the Game Better

Helldivers 2’s first patch since the PSN login debacle is out now, making some much-needed fixes to the game.

A Minecraft player has created a mod that enhances the effects of explosions to make them seem more realistic. Minecrafthas long been a game that fans have modded with dozens of different additions or tweaks, changing the game however they like. Mods have been such a deep part of the Minecraft community on PC that some have even inspired features in the full game, like the recipe book.

Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has announced that the highly rated PS5 exclusive title stars Jake Song, a veteran game designer, in a cameo appearance. Song, whose digital model appears in Stellar Blade, is a leading name behind one of the biggest games in Shift Up's home country.

Stellar Blade was the best-selling physical game in the UK last week, with its launch sales on PS5 being enough to see it top sales charts in the region. Sony and Shift Up haven't shared any official sales data just yet, but this marks a good start for the title, which holds the potential to sell well long-term. TopSpin 2K25 was another new entry in the UK sales chart last week, debuting in third place.

Stellar Blade, the latest PS5 exclusive title, may soon get a major update that brings a new game mode into the fray. Apparently, developer Shift Up is already working on adding a challenge mode for Stellar Blade.

Some side quests in are tied to a fishing mini-game, including one where you have to find a rare item called the Fantastic Bait to attract the game's most elusive aquatic animal. Fishing fanatics will want to get this Bait to conclude the story tied to this optional content. Important rewards can be earned when you collect Fantastic Bait for your toughest fishing trip yet.

Stellar Blade is rolling out across the world today, but launch certainly isn't the end since its director has teased a crossover between the hack-n-slashin' action game and the studio's previous gacha release, best known for its - checks notes - butt-jiggling physics. 

With the recent success of Prime Video's series, there's a real allure to returning to and making it feel more like its television counterpart. The show is not based on any of the games before it, instead adapting the world but bringing it to life with different characters and a brand-new story. The series feels like an unapologetic and authentic member of thegaming franchise, but some mods can turn the tables and give the same feel as the TV show.

Sony and Shift Up have put out a new Stellar Blade trailer to mark the PS5 exclusive's launch, with the release date set for tomorrow, 26th April 2024. Like a lot of launch trailers, the two-minute slice of footage features a lot of cutscenes and stretches of gameplay we haven't seen before, so you might want to skip it given the full launch is so close. Since it was first unveiled as Project Eve several years ago, Korean studio Shift Up’s Stellar Blade has been on the radar for many, and now the action title is celebrating its release. Though officially the PS5-exclusive hasn’t yet launched in many regions of the world, there are some that have got access to it, to celebrate which Sony has released a launch trailer for the game.
