Dead by Daylight Working to Fix Annoying Issue

After Dead by Daylight update 7.7.0 went live, players began to experience random flashing lights in their games. The Dead by Daylight team immediately put out a photosensitivity warning on their Twitter account, alerting the community to the potential danger of the bug. The 7.7.0A fix is only being rolled out to PC users, with the notes stating that if it's successful it'll be pushed to all platforms. Further warnings for those that suffer seizures or epilepsy were included since the adjustments may not work for all players.
Not all players experience the strobing lights, as evidenced on the forum and Reddit thread created about the bug. Some reported that the lights only showed for a few seconds, while others were subjected to a light show for over 20 seconds. Some players stated they only saw the bug in a single game. Others weren't as lucky, having flashing lights in roughly 67% of their matches.
Any advantage players can gain from the environment is important. Flashing lights, that aren't a game mechanic, interrupt the gameplay. On top of that, they can cause severe medical issues, including seizures. This makes it incredibly difficult to win a match as a survivor in Dead by Daylight. Update 7.7.0 was released on April 23 and included the new Tome 19: SPLENDOR content. It includes new stories for The Artist and Zarina Kassir, as well as a game update to Unreal Engine 5.
