Red Dead Redemption 2 Fan Turns The Game's Soundtrack Into a Cassette

Rockstar co-founder and veteran Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto lead Dan Houser seems to be working on a lot of things at his new studio, Absurd Ventures, and one of them is a new sci-fi IP that might just be the setting of the big open-world action game that just got outed in a job listing.

While Grand Theft Auto 6 is launching in Fall 2026, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 is still selling quite well despite its age. Take-Two Interactive’s fourth quarter fiscal year 2024 earnings report revealed that the latter had sold approximately 200 million units in its lifetime, up from 195 million.

Sony has revealed the lineup of games joining the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog in May. This month's PS Plus offerings are led by Red Dead Redemption 2, the acclaimed action-adventure Western from Rockstar Games. Other games coming to game catalog include co-op shooter Crime Boss: Rockay City, multiplayer first-person shooter Deceive Inc., survival sim Stranded: Alien Dawn and more. The games will be available to PS Plus Extra and Deluxe/Premium tier members as part of Game Catalog starting May 21.

Absurd Ventures, the company started by Rockstar Games co-founder and head writer Dan Houser after he left said juggernaut, are working on a new "open world action-adventure" game. That's according to recent job listings on Absurd's website (cheers Gamesradar for the spot), which mention such a thing. And to be honest, are any of us surprised? Not really. Will the finished product resemble GTA to some degree? I imagine yes. Am I happy about this? Yeah, go on then.

Sony’s lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers in May 2024 has been officially revealed, with all titles going live on May 21st. While not every game is on the service, and some rotate out, it’s still an excellent way to play a selection of great games from the last decade. For instance, Rockstar’s epic cowboy saga Red Dead Redemption 2 will soon be available on PlayStation Plus after a long absence, along with a handful of other intriguing titles.

players looking to make the game a little more punishing are in luck because a new mod aims to make every gunfight as realistic and challenging as possible. Through Arthur Morgan's adventures with Dutch Van Der Linde and his crew, the outlaw will become involved in plenty of shoot-outs, either with fellow criminals and bandits or the police trying to bring order to the Wild West. The game's combat is undoubtedly well executed with weapons having a weight and power behind their shots but, admittedly, it does sometimes feel like Arthur is a little impervious.
