An Overwatch 2 player noticed an interesting detail in Widowmaker's Mirrorwatch skin, which has a different-colored cybernetic eye. Overwatch 2 kicked off Season 10 this month and brought a wide range of changes for players. Mirrorwatch is underway and has caught players' eyes by creating an alternative universe that swaps the roles of Overwatch 2's heroes. Overwatch agents have become Talon operatives, with Talon members following the reverse path. To accompany the change in the heroes' origins, Overwatch 2 released skins with the characters' new looks, including Mercy's new Mythic skin that gave the support hero a very different appearance from her original. Reddit user t0mless noticed that Widowmaker has a cybernetic eye on her Mirrorwatch skin. The player shared two close-up images of the Death Stare intro, where players can see that Widowmaker's right eye has a yellowish tone, unlike the character's left eye, which is blue. Mirrorwatch attracted the attention of Overwatch 2 players because of the premise, allowing fans to see Widowmaker on the good guys' side along with Sombra and Doomfist. Named Captain Lacroix, Widowmaker's new outfit hides more than Overwatch 2 players can imagine.
Overwatch 2 has included a smart reference to its lore in the Widowmaker skin, which is the Mirrorwatch equivalent of Ana. One of the founding members of Overwatch, Ana was known for being an excellent sniper thanks to her cybernetic right eye. Everything changed, however, in a tumultuous encounter between Widowmaker and Ana, with Widow destroying Ana's cybernetic eye. Instead of repairing the prosthesis, Ana decides to wear an eye patch as a reminder of who she has become after the clash with Widowmaker. Because of its variety of heroes, Overwatch 2 has remarkably rich lore, and this subtle but neat Easter egg in Widowmaker's Mirrorwatch skin is proof. For players who haven't joined the event yet, Mirrorwatch ends on May 13. Most of the Mirrorwatch skins can be acquired through the Overwatch 2 Season 10 Battle Pass, with players getting the Widowmaker Mirrorwatch skin by reaching Tier 80 of the Premium Battle Pass.
Overwatch 2 is Blizzard's free-to-play team-based first-person shooter. The title features some new heroes like Junker Queen and Sojourn, as well as returning favorites.
