Assassin's Creed Codename Red is slated to launch before the end of Ubisoft's next financial year concludes in March 2025. Microsoft has announced that it’s cutting 1,900 jobs from its gaming division’s workforce of around 22,000, with the massive round of layoffs set to impact employees across Xbox, Activision Blizzad, and ZeniMax. Given the scale of the layoffs, the full extent of their impact likely won’t become perfectly clear immediately, but it looks like game cancellations will also be involved.

In yet another proud moment for India, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has powered another amazing mission to a successful conclusion. Dubbed the PSLV-C58 XPoSat Mission, ISRO launched the rocket and got the satellite into place exactly where it was required. League of Geeks, the development studio currently working on space strategy sim game Jumplight Odyssey and turn-based political strategy game Solium Infernum, has announced cuts to over 50% of its workforce. That includes the entireJumplight Odyssey team, putting the early-access game’s development on hold indefinitely. 

In a statement, League of Geeks—developers of Armello, the upcoming Solium Infernum, and Jumplight Odyssey—have stated that they’ve had to “say goodbye” to over half their staff. As a result, Jumplight Odyssey, a game that’s currently in Early Access, is being placed on indefinite pause.

League Of Geeks, the developers behind Armello and the upcoming Solium Infernum remake, have announced they've had to pause the development of their spaceship colony roguelike Jumplight Odyssey "indefinitely" as the studio faces mass redundancies. Over 50% of staff have been affected, including the entire Jumplight Odyssey team, and part of their publishing and operations teams.

Popular game publisher Ubisoft came under fire recently, after some gamers experienced a mid-game full-screen pop-up ad that showed up on Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Some of them took to Reddit and shared their findings, which led to many gaming enthusiasts calling out the publisher for compromising the gaming experience of users. While it is not rare to see ads in games, they usually appear on the title screen and not once the game has started. Now, Ubisoft has come out and claimed that the incident was caused by a technical error and was not intentional.
