A new Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator Mainline Build is now available for download, bringing performance and emulation improvements for several high-profile titles like Super Mario Odyssey, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, and others.
Mainline Build introduces a new query/GPU counter cache that addresses Level of Details issues with games like Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, fixes lens flare in Luigi's Mansion 3 and glow particles in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3, allows shadows to be rendered in Metroid Prime Remastered. This change also implements host conditional rendering, which improves performance on low-end devices for titles like Super Mario Odyssey and multiple Koei Tecmo titles.
Improving performance seems to be the current main focus of the Yuzu development team, as other builds released a few days back brought reduced stuttering and better performance in multiple titles with a change that has yet to be fully implemented in the Mainline Build of the emulator. A few other builds released earlier this month also improved Bayonetta 3's emulation and performance, finally providing an experience on PC that is better and more stable than on native hardware.
More information on the Yuzu Nintendo Switch emulator can be found on its official website. The latest Mainline Build can also be downloaded from the website.

There are many ways you can easily measure the success of the Nintendo Switch, but one of the biggest ones is that despite being over six years old, it’s still selling like hotcakes in various parts of the world. This is a testament to how good the system is and the many games that newcomers can get right off the bat to start their gaming journeys on the platform. To that end, in Japan, sales of the Switch have been higher than one would expect over both the last week and the fiscal quarter, pointing to an upcoming set of releases as the “catalyst” for this event.

Since its launch in March 2017, the Nintendo Switch has gone from strength to strength, even surpassing the sales of Nintendo's previous best-selling console in the US, the Wii. This becomes even more impressive due to the fact that it is massively underpowered compared to its two main rivals in the gaming console industry - PlayStation and Xbox. While it doesn't get exactly the same AAA titles as its rivals, it does have its own exclusives which are extremely popular, especially among young gamers. Nintendo recently held its Direct event where it showcased several games that are due to launch soon, despite the Switch now nearing the end of its life-cycle and the Switch 2 reportedly in development.
Video game history is full of rivalries that continue to this day. Heck, just look at the FTC case with Sony and Microsoft and listen to how they talked about each other and Nintendo. It got brutal. But easily, one of the earliest video game rivalries that sparked generations of debate was “Mario vs. Sonic.” The two icons of the beloved video game publishers clashed in many ways over the years, and now, they appear to be clashing again. Why? Because Super Mario Bros Wonder is set to arrive on the 20th, and Sonic Superstars will arrive just three days before then on the 17th. Coincidence? Some people think so.
There's not much longer to wait for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but that hasn't stopped fans from having their fun early.
