Samsung has announced three brand new gaming monitors as a part of its 2024 Odyssey lineup which includes the G9, G8, and G6.
Samsung is kicking off CES 2024 with the unveiling of its new Odyssey OLED gaming monitors. These new monitors include the OLED G9, OLED G8, & OLED G6, each targeting a specific set of gamers.
Starting at the very top, we have the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SD model) which is a 49" curved screen design that comes with an ultra-wide form factor and a 32:9 aspect ratio. The G9 supports a resolution of 5120 x 1440 (DQHD) and has a refresh rate of 240Hz with a 0.03ms GTG response time. Most of the new additions come on the software side with support for Samsung's Smart TV and Samsung Gaming Hub built-in functions.

The most interesting product within the lineup is the Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SD model) which is the company's first 32" flat-screen Odyssey display with a 3840 x 2160 (UHD) resolution and an aspect ratio of 16:9 which is great for users who aren't into curved or ultra-wide designs. This monitor is rated at a refresh rate of 240Hz & like the other products, comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and also supports AMD Freesync Premium Pro.

Lastly, there's the Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD model) which is a high-end 27" design that also comes with a flat screen and 16:9 form factor. This monitor has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (QHD) and supports a much higher refresh rate of 360Hz, making it perfect for eSports gamers. It comes with the same AMD Freesync Premium Pro support.
Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SD) Specs
All of the three latest Samsung Odyssey OLED 2024 gaming monitors feature two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub, and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. The exclusion of DisplayPort 2.1 is a bummer but it looks like we have to wait a bit more to get those updated designs later this year. The monitors also support VESA mount compatibility and a height-adjustable stand (HAS) that features tilt, swivel, and pivot control points
Another feature to highlight about the Samsung Odyssey OLED 2024 gaming monitor lineup is that all three models (G9, G8, G6) feature Core Lighting+ technology that emits ambient light from the back of the monitor, giving you a more immersive experience while gaming or watching movies. As for pricing and availability, those haven't been disclosed yet but we will provide an update as soon as we have more information.
