After a three-year hiatus, Assassin’s Creed returns with Mirage. From a visuals and technical perspective, the team at Ubisoft has gone for a “less is more” approach. Powered by the latest iteration of the Anvil engine, Mirage looks stunning, often due to the myriad features it sports that are still not commonplace in all games or engines, such as real-time lighting systems that incorporate time of day, global illumination bounce of light, dense cities, vast landscapes, and huge vistas with rich and colourful flora and fauna.

Ubisoft has revealed some details about the debut of Assassin's Creed Mirage, saying its player count is "in line" with the previous launches like Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Ubisoft released a statement thanking players for their support for the new release and that the developer's "back to the roots experience" has paid off.

"With the number of players being in line with past successful launches such as Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey, we are humbled by the positive reception," Ubisoft wrote. The company also says Mirage is the biggest new-generation launch game in terms of unit sales in Ubisoft's history.
The revelation is not entirely surprising for those familiar with the series, especially the more recent entries. Ubisoft confirmed ahead of launch that Assassin's Creed Mirage would only take on average 20-23 hours to complete, a stark contrast from the previous games Valhalla and Odyssey, which had massive open worlds to explore that would take dozens of hours to search every inch of virtual land fully.
Ubisoft also shared some community-focused statistics recorded in Assassin's Creed Mirage's first week: this includes 1.2 million street cats being pet, and it's fitting that they've pointed this out, given players recently discovered that some of the street cats in the game have markings resembling the Assassin's Creed logo on its nose. Players have also already spent 479 collective years parkouring the rooftops of Baghdad and taken 60 million Leaps of Faith.
In IGN's review of Assassin's Creed Mirage, which we gave an 8 out of 10, we said, "Assassin's Creed Mirage's back-to-basics approach is a successful first step in returning to the stealthy style that launched this series."

If you've been playing Assassin's Creed Mirage at all this past couple of weeks, you've almost certainly run across a barred door or 12. These puzzles force you to search for a small crack or open window in the same building for a good angle to chuck a throwing knife at the lock, allowing Basim to enter the building and collect the spoils within. They're a very common sight for Assassin's Creed fans, mostly thanks to them making the jump from Valhalla, but it's seems like they've become so common that fans are starting to get sick of them.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage: How To Assassinate Qabiha (Without Getting Caught)
In , the final Head of the Order must be found and eliminated to free Baghdad, which turns out to be the former concubine of the Caliphate, Qabiha. Qabiha is a clever woman, and the Palace is well protected when Basim seeks to infiltrate it. Doing so without getting caught will be easier said than done, and once inside the Palace, it is quite challenging to leave it without being followed by every Guard in the vicinity.

Every Sword Appearance In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Ranked
Basim's main weapon in is a sword, so it's important for him to wield one that looks good as he slices and dices through the guards of Baghdad. Unlike other recent titles, alternative weapons like axes or bow aren't present in the game, meaning that one sword or another will remain equipped throughout the entire game. None of the available blades in are entirely lacking in style, but some are more basic than others, making abandoning less glamorous options once others become available to Basim a good call.
