's DLC brings many new side quests to the open world of Night City, but one in particular shouldn't be skipped. Naturally, the main focus of the DLC is on its tense, twisted spy thriller of a story. Even so, some of its side quests do a wonderful job of expanding its world, getting the player acquainted with the notable people, places, and things of Dogtown to ease them along their journey.

Every game is made better with an air dash, especially Cyberpunk 2077, and especially if you're packed to the gills with military grade combat cyberware. Over the last few weeks of freelancing in Dogtown, I've been able to drastically slash my commute by comboing the air dash with double jumps from the reinforced tendons cyberware upgrade.

You'll go on to meet one of the game's new protagonists, as well as become acquainted with Night City's newest neighborhood, Dogtown. As is often the case with much of the game, there are many decisions that have to be handled which can affect other things down the line, and particularly when trying to roleplay it can be hard to know what the right choice is. Dogtown residents Jacob and Taylor may talk tough, but whether they deserve the maximum punishment for their actions is ultimately up to the player to decide.

Reed is a Federal Intelligence Agency officer, and Songbird is a Netrunner who serves as President Myers' aide. When the President's helicopter takes a dive in Dogtown, and the President herself is trapped, both of these characters call on the mercenary V for help. However, they have a history, and Reed is convinced that letting Songbird fly is more trouble than it's worth. Reed believes that Songbird's work behind the Blackwall, a defense measure against rogue AI, is dangerous. And he's got the President on his side.

In Phantom Liberty’s Lucretia My Reflection, President Myers must be escorted to safety through the tunnels of Dogtown. After reaching a fork, there’s the chance to make progress through a room with security cameras and a steaming hot pipe. The issue is, there is no way either you or the president will walk under that pipe without burning to death. This triggers a puzzle to find a valve around the area and use it to stop the steam from flowing through the pipes. That way, you can both get around this door safely.

Between the main missions for the campaign and the various side jobs that V can pick up around Dogtown, the DLC brings in a variety of personalities and backstories to explore.

A fully mechanized war robot bristling with heavy weapons, the Chimera is the first major boss players will face in. Unlike many previous bosses in the game which were often bullet sponges, facing the Chimera requires some special tactics. This includes targeting its weak points and keeping an eye out for its deadly special attacks.

When first taking a step onto the streets of Dogtown in, players will spot an airdrop containing valuable loot landing on the roof of a distant skyscraper. This cargo drop is the property of local warlord Kurt Hansen, and V can fight off his troops to claim the loot inside. However, they’ll have to reach the landing site first.

There are several ways to access expansion, including options for new and returning players. V’s journey into the lawless district of Dogtown isn’t separate from the game’s main campaign, and you’ll want to approach the right way to make the most of the experience. However, this is a bit trickier than it sounds.

Idris Elba isn't a stranger to the music scene, however, and his rapping abilities were put to good use for this dark and gritty DLC.
