Cyberpunk 2077 easter egg brings The Witcher 3 to Phantom Liberty

Like many of CD Projekt RED's games, 's DLC contains a great number of excellently concealed Easter eggs, hidden details, and subtle pop-culture references. Although some of 's secrets are easily discovered, others are incredibly hard to uncover — this, however, is part of the fun. While simple awareness of a reference is rewarding, having to spend a great deal of time and effort in locating an Easter egg amplifies the reward.

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 won’t have to wait long before returning to the dystopian streets of Night City. Developer CD Projekt Red announced on Thursday that they are working on a live-action TV series set in the universe of Mike Pondsmith’s dark futuristic tabletop RPG.

One CDPR developer whose credits include quest design on Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 defends the animations, character behaviors, and way dialogue sequences are presented in Starfield, following critical comparisons between the Bethesda RPG and CP2077. Following the release of Phantom Liberty, players are returning to Night City for the next chapter in the tale of V and Johnny Silverhand. One Cyberpunk player outlines their issues with Starfield when compared to the CD Projekt Red game, calling Bethesda’s dialogue animations and its in-house Creation Engine “outdated.” A CDPR dev responds, outlining the differences between Starfield and Cyberpunk in terms of game-making ambition.

has added a new car as a tribute to famed rally driver Ken Block: the Quadra Type 66 «Hoon.» This particular variant of the Quadra Type 66 has been modified for rally driving, boasting a powerful engine and excellent handling both on and off-road. It also comes with mounted machine guns and armor plating for vehicle combat, making it an excellent choice for cruising the lawless streets of Night City.

Phantom Liberty and the 2.0 overhaul are the last «big updates» to Cyberpunk 2077, but that doesn't mean CD Projekt is quite finished with it. The studio announced today that the 2.01 update is in the works, with fixes for a number of big issues still plaguing the game.

Cyberpunk 2077's 2.0 update is proving to be the gift that keeps on giving, throwing further fuel on a mystery that's been perplexing the community for years. Known as FF:06:B5, it spans both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, and a dedicated subreddit has sprung up to solve the various esoteric threads that comprise it.

The Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 is here. Available for $29.99 on PC, Xbox and Playstation platforms, the expansion sends you to a new district of Night City. Dog Town is a fortified section of the city controlled by an army of independent mercenaries.
