The new DLC for adds a lot of new content to the game, most notable is the addition of an impressive and emotionally charged spy-thriller story that takes players through the Dogtown district. A couple can be easily missed out on, especially if people are trying to rush through the story itself.
was released just days after the massive Update 2.0 brought a lot of quality-of-life changes to, so it is easy to get confused between what changes were from the 2.0 update and which were from the DLC if someone owns both. The Combat Zone known as Dogtown is a new district that V is encouraged to become familiar with in the DLC. This small area is jam-packed with interesting details to see and do, even without the chaotic missions of the overall theme of the expansion. The area's thriving black market, and the overall setting of being a bit of a war zone give it a dangerous feeling, which is fitting for a place under the control of Kurt Hansen and the Barghest. Although it is much more compact than Night City, Dogtown is easily one of the most interesting districts in the game.
With Update 2.0, most of the items of clothing in are now just for cosmetic purposes, and the actual Armor that V has is tied directly to Cybernetics. This emphasis on Cyberware feels much more fitting for the entire game and the point of what it means to be cyberpunk. With the DLC, much of the story that is introduced feels more important given this change for Cybernetics being such an important part of the world, although it would certainly make the game more difficult for anyone who opts to intentionally underpower their V.
Airdrops in are fun ways to get valuable loot if V is up to the fight required to get to the cargo before Kurt Hansen's troops do. The airdrop mechanic is an entirely optional side feature but highly recommended as a way to get better gear, rare items, and even Cyberware Capacity Shards to increase V's Cyberware Capacity. Plus, as a nice added bonus, sometimes players can catch little bits of side story by overhearing the Barghest troops talking, and the same can be said of some of the scavengers.
