For more hard evidence, the Lovely Duckling pet was added in Patch 10.2.5, alongside the duck shifting druid, Daetan Swiftplume and his special Noble Flying Carpet drop, the flavor text outright confirming that at least one duck is involved in the holiday update.

It’s hard to believe that the Pokemon franchise is well over 25 years old and that we’ve gone from the original 150 Pokemon to now over 1000. There have been many highs and lows for the series, yet it has endured.
