One UI 6.1 is finally making its way to Galaxy S23 and all the other supported devices. The new update brings a number of improvements, including Galaxy AI. However, the latest update now appears that the latest update appears to be throttling the charging speed, which could be an issue for a lot of people.
Now, Samsung phones don't have high charging speeds, as the flagship models max out at 45W. The Galaxy S23 supports a max charging speed of 25 watts, but it appears that after the One UI 6.1 update, the charging speed has gone down to 15W. The user even shared a screenshot showing how the phone is not charging at a higher charging speed.
Another user on Twitter asked the users if they were facing a similar issue after receiving the One UI 6.1 update, and it turns out that people who are using the Galaxy S23 devices are actually running into this issue after the update; the charging speed is limited to 15W and sometimes even lower than that.
The good news is that this does not seem like a hardware issue. Software problems happen all the time, and once Samsung is notified of the Issue, a fix will be available soon. We hope that it will not take long for the Galaxy S23 users to enjoy their devices as they are supposed to.
It is worth noting that the issue seems to be bothering all Galaxy S23 users, including those using the Ultra variant, which supports fast charging at 45W. However, the throttling brings the charging speed down to 15W. Here, we hope that Samsung actually pushes the update and fixes this because 15W is slow even by Samsung's standard. Now that it has become apparent that this is not an isolated issue, it is safe to say that Samsung will be looking into this and will be releasing a fix soon. We just have to wait and see when it comes out. I guess this issue will be fixed with the April security patch.
