Some merchandise suggests that Ermac was originally meant to be a part of Mortal Kombat 1’s base roster instead of a post-launch DLC character. Originally created as a red-colored palette swap of famed ninjas Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Ermac has been a part of the Mortal Kombat mythos since Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, and it won’t be long before Mortal Kombat 1 players will be able to take control of this powerful undead warrior. Ermac is set to be introduced as the latest MK 1 DLC character on April 16 for Early Access players and April 23 for everyone else.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League isn't one of the most popular titles out there at the moment, and the introduction of The Joker in Season 1 hasn't done much to fix that. There are a bunch of reasons for Suicide Squad's frosty reception, one of them being the treatment of iconic hero Batman, who most fans will know is bumped off by Harley Quinn.

Presumably, the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic can’t hold up a newspaper with today’s date to prove that it is actually doing okay and hasn’t been quietly disposed of in a tax report somewhere, Warner Bros-style. As such, it falls to the head of current developers Saber Interactive to promise that the long-in-the-works Star Wars game is still “alive and well”.
If Warner Bros. Pictures had successfully intimidated trans filmmaker Vera Drew out of releasing her tiny pop-punk biopic The People’s Joker, it’s possible that it would have disappeared quietly: yet another small, personal indie film hunting for an audience in an oversaturated market. Godzilla x Kong has just rumbled into cinemas, with early reactions calling it an absurdly fun ride – but when will the monster mash hit streaming services? It’s a fair question. After all, the previous MonsterVerse entry, Godzilla vs. Kong, released in cinemas and on streaming simultaneously.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League hasn't been enjoying much success since launch, with Warner Bors. having practically branded the game a failure and the majority of the game's fanbase having dropped off due to unpopular story choices and generally unsatisfying gameplay. Season 1 of the game's promised post-launch content was a chance to turn those fortunes around though, but Rocksteady has allowed that chance to slip through its fingers in pretty dramatic fashion.
Technically, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is the fifth film in Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse, which expanded into television in 2023 with Apple TV Plus’ Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. While that doesn’t make this franchise as sprawling as, say, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s still a sizable enough body of work to fill a long weekend of watching for anyone who’s curious about what led up to The New Empire.

Rooster Teeth is getting shut down by parent company Warner Bros. this year, but not before the studio sends off arguably its most beloved production, the Halo parody series Red vs. Blue, with one last movie.
Rooster Teeth may have been shuttered by Warner Bros. a few weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean that Red vs. Blue is going away. The Halo-based machinima web series that started 21 years ago is still getting its previously announced final season, despite its production company being shuttered. The trailer for the last season debuted on Thursday, revealing a release date of May 7.
I’m going to level with you: Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire might be the stupidest movie I’ve ever seen. Not the worst movie (that would be Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2), but very possibly the most absurd. I’m ashamed to tell my mother I saw it, for fear of a lecture about how she did not raise a dummy, and did not break her back putting me through school so I could sit through the giant-monkey-and-lizard movie, for money. But unfortunately for her (love you, Mom) she did put me through school to watch the giant-monkey-and-lizard movie, for money. So I did watch the stupid thing. And you know what? I’d do it again.
Video games get delisted often, mostly for banal reasons like an expired music licensing agreement or a publishing agreement running out. But the recent delisting of Adult Swim Games en masse feels a bit different.

Warner Bros. Games has been discussing its business strategy over the past several weeks, but it seems to be full of contradictions. Hogwarts Legacy, its AAA single-player Harry Potter game, was one of the top-selling games of 2023, but the company instead intends to focus on live-service and free-to-play games in the future, like its underperforming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. WB Games is reviving a game it took offline last year before unpublishing a suite of games that have been playable for years. That’s not to forget that the game that’s being revived, Super Smash Bros.-like brawler MultiVersus, features characters from several of Warner Bros.’ botched properties, like the Space Jam reboot, Black Adam, and a whole slate of Looney Tunes in the aftermath of Coyote vs. Acme.
While cloud gaming is very much not at a point where I want it to be the main way I play games, if I ever will, I do appreciate having the convenience as an option. Being able to play a game away from my PC can be handy. So it's neat that GOG have announced they're teaming up with Amazon to make select GOG games playable through the Amazon Luna cloud gaming platform "soon". Sure, I might be tempted to take a nice stroll through Night City while slouching about with my laptop that absolutely cannot run Cyberpunk 2077.
Gotham Knights studio WB Games Montreal is supporting development on the forthcoming Wonder Woman game.
The studio behind Gotham Knights is seemingly supporting Monolith Productions on its upcoming Wonder Woman game.
Monolith Productions' upcoming game has enlisted help from a studio well-versed in DC games. The title was revealed during The Game Awards 2021, but there have been very few details surrounding the title since other than its inclusion of Monolith's "" system from its acclaimed and titles, and the confirmation that it would be separate from the Arkhamverse.
WB Games Montreal, the studio behind Gotham Knights, could be assisting Monolith Productions with its upcoming WonderWomangame — at least according to a newly discovered job listing. WB Montreal is already well familiar with the DC Universe, having helped Rocksteady with Batman: Arkham City Armored Edition for the Wii U in 2012 before releasing Batman: Arkham Origins the following year. Its next gaming venture took it outside of the Arkhamverse with Gotham Knights, a spiritual successor that shifted the focus toward the other members of the Bat Family as they carried out the mission of defending Gotham City after Batman’s death.
This week the big question has been just what the hell Warner Bros. have managed to do with the Arkham/Batman franchise after the unsurprising failure of Suicide Squad to revive the series’ fortunes. For the record, Suicide Squad is well worth playing just to experience the storyline and the characters, but as a long-term live-service game it leaves a lot to be desired. It’s clear that live service is no longer the golden goose the industry thought it was, and with more games battling for our multiplayer hours, including a batch of thoroughly great free-to-play titles, the outlook has to change. Hopefully it’s in the player’s interests, rather than in the shareholders’.
A Hogwarts Legacy player recently shared footage of a unique building in Hogsmeade that has three different versions depending on which door players use to enter it. The main draw of Hogwarts Legacy may be the massive Hogwarts castle that players are free to explore, but the game's open world is much larger than just the famous wizarding school. Hogwarts Legacy lets players explore the surrounding grounds as well, which includes the village of Hogsmeade.
