The BAFTA Games Awards 2024 winners have been revealed, with this year's big victor — perhaps unsurprisingly — being Larian Studios' hugely acclaimed Baldur's Gate 3.
Baldur's Gate 3 took home a total of five BAFTAs, coming top in the categories for Narrative, Music, and Best Game. It also won the EE Player's Choice Award — the only category to be voted for by the general public — and Andrew Wincott was named best Performer in a Supporting Role, for his performance as Raphael in the game.
Tonight's other multi award winners were Alan Wake 2 — which secured BAFTAs for Audio Achievement and Artistic Achievement — and Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which trumped the competition in the Multiplayer and Family categories. Additionally, clever photography puzzler Viewfinder had two wins: British Game and New Intellectual Property.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door's long-awaited remake is only a little under a month away, which means Nintendo has started releasing more and more information about the title and what we can expect. Being a remake of a beloved and classic title, there are a lot of questions surrounding what Nintendo will keep or remove from the original. For example, it was recently discovered that the game will make Vivian trans across all versions, something which was cut from the English and German versions of the original.
As the only British baseball fan on Planet Earth, I had one simple mission when I first arrived in Taipei: to choose a local team to support. Taiwan is infatuated with America’s former favourite pastime, and it’s even dedicated a spot on its $1,000 note to a celebrating squad. After much deliberation, I settled on the Rakuten Monkeys for one rather simple, primitive reason: they’d just signed Korean cheerleader Lee Dahye.
@RogerRoger No problem. I played Avengers when it was on PS Now and then later picked up the PS5 version 2nd hand to finish off the story. It was ok. I liked the story arc of the main antagonist and protagonist, but the missions get quite repetitive late on in the game. Out of all the extra characters I only played with Kate Bishop, I think her name was. Who was surprisingly fun to play as, but I was burnt out by the game by then so didn't finish her story.

Starlight Games is a brand new, UK-based development studio, and it has some real video game veterans among its ranks. Furthermore, the new team has hit the ground running, with several titles already at various stages of production.
Given the reputation Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door continues to enjoy to this day, two decades on from its GameCube launch, the level of excitement surrounding the release of its upcoming Nintendo Switch remake isn’t surprising in the slightest. And as the RPG draws closer to launch, Nintendo is continuing to show more bits and pieces.
Helldivers 2 is an extremely popular game, far more than probably either Arrowhead or Sony hoped for. That said, it isn't perfect, and the developers are well aware of that.
Persona 3 Aigis: The First Mission is coming to Steam and the Nintendo Switch. However, this long-forgotten Persona 3 spin-off will not be treated to an official English localization.
