Footage of Monolith Productions' title — codenamed — has surfaced online, showing gameplay of Christian Bale's take on the hero from Christopher Nolan's trilogy as he patrols an open-world Gotham. Unfortunately, the title was canceled, but Monolith did take elements from it to make the acclaimed.
While this footage has apparently been online since 2022, it recently began circulating on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, with Dageekydude sharing a breakdown in a series of posts on X soon after. Much like Rocksteady's titles that followed, players would have traversed across the city using a combination of gliding, grappling to vantage points with the grapple gun, or operating the Batmobile (which was only referred to as the Tumber in Nolan's trilogy), the latter of which was included in more linear levels in Electronic Arts' 2005 tie in, but only became an open-world feature in Rocksteady's 2015 title.
Apparently, Monolith's title wouldn't have followed the story of the movies, unlike Pandemic's canceled 2008 tie-in, but would have been set within the same universe, and would have been released in the early 2010s, potentially before the series went open-world with 2011's . Unfortunately, reports surrounding the title suggest that Warner Bros. didn't want two competing game series, with already proving to be a success, and according to Liam Robertson of DidYouKnowGaming?, Monolith had yet to receive the blessing of Christoper Nolan, which resulted in the title being canceled.
This led to Monolith retooling the title into a project, as Warner Bros also held the film and merchandise rights to the popular fantasy series, which led to the creation of 2014's acclaimed. Apparently, featured an early version of the unique Nemesis System that was used as a major selling point for, in which randomized enemies remembered previous encounters with the players, leading to more unique interactions with them later on.
While it's disappointing that Monolith didn't get to finish and give players an open-world title based in Nolan's continuity, the studio is currently returning to the DC universe with its upcoming Wonder Woman title. While very little is known about its story, it has been confirmed that the gameplay will also include the studio's Nemesis mechanic.

2019's movie has been imagined as an open-world game. Considering the award-winning movie took a different approach to comic book movies, following the likes of and in its story and tone rather than following more classic comic book movie fare like the DC movies that came before it, it's the last movie anyone would expect to be adapted into a game, and yet it looks visually impressive.
A release date for may finally be on its way. News surrounding the Metroidvania's DLC-turned-sequel had been scarce for over two years after footage was shown during Xbox and Bethesda's Summer Game Fest event in 2022, showcasing its new combat style, heroine, and more years after its initial announcement back in 2019. This even prompted its developers, Team Cherry, to reassure fans that the game was still in production after delays and an already lengthy development. Recently, things seem to be picking up speed, however, as a Microsoft Store page appeared for the game, and now, yet another country has rated the game.

's Joker-centric Season 1 content launched on March 28, and with the base game facing an extreme player dropoff in the nearly two-month period since its launch, those who did purchase the game, or stuck with it in that time, hoped the Joker content would breathe some new life into it after its endgame content was criticized for becoming repetitive with just a handful of missions, or the option to replay the story content again. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case.
players can finally build the house of their dreams in the game. While many players will spend most of their time in traveling across the galaxy, building outposts, or fighting bandits, others opt to spend some time at their character's home, a luxurious dream home on a planet called Nesoi that can be unlocked via the Dream Home trait within the game.
is the most recent entry in the rejuvenated video game series, which began with 2014's and was followed by 2017's.
