' new story trailer confirmed the appearance of one of the series' most ruthless crime syndicates, Crimson Dawn. Previously, it was known that Kay Vess would be running into three major crime families, the Hutts, the Pykes, and a completely new clan, the Ashiga, however, other known syndicates that were active at the time, Crimson Dawn, Black Sun, and Crymorah hadn't been shown.
While Black Sun and Crymorah still have yet to be seen, the Crimson Dawn is mentioned in a meeting between major organizations at the start of the trailer — which can be found on Ubisoft's YouTube channel — alongside a character who could be Qi'ra, who was the face of Crimson Dawn during this time. Qi'ra and the Crimson Dawn's role in would make perfect sense, as they played a significant role during this era, especially in their dealings with other syndicates.
Crimson Dawn is one of the most ruthless criminal syndicates with agents all over the galaxy, being led by the former Sith Lord, Darth Maul from the shadows as a successor to his Shadow Collective before Qi'ra assumed full control. The group was introduced in 2018's , but as this film underperformed at the box office and there was no sequel, Crimson Dawn hasn't been seen in the movies since. Marvel's recent comics have shown the group's actions in this time, however, and it would be extremely interesting to see if these play out in, with Kay Vess potentially witnessing or taking part in some of Qi'ra's schemes.
seems to be revisiting a very important period for the franchise that was first explored in the multimedia event , almost 30 years ago. These stories are set between the events of and, when the Empire was seemingly distracted by the growing rebellion, letting criminal organizations thrive.
As shown in the Marvel comics, Crimson Dawn was initiating the Syndicate War at this time, using several agents across the galaxy to cause rifts between the various criminal factions. This began with the transportation of Han Solo's Carbonite, which was shown in ' reveal trailer. Crimson Dawn stole Solo in the arc as bait for a trap before Boba Fett reacquired him, and considering Kay Vess can be seen looking at the Carbonite in Jabba's Palace — where it was situated at the start of — during ' most recent trailer, players may see some of these events unfold, or at least hear about them occurring off-screen.
Considering the role Crimson Dawn played in the underworld at this time, it's unsurprising that they would show up in a story that is so focused on exploring this side of the franchise. With the faction being largely overlooked outside of the comics, it would be great to see them play a larger role in , especially as players seem to be able to form their own

now has an iconic ship from the prequel trilogy, thanks to a mod. Considering Bethesda's space RPG lets players explore several star systems and planets in a variety of ships, it should come as no surprise that there's been no shortage of mods incorporating elements of other fan-favorite sci-fi franchises.
The classic card game Sabacc will finally be playable in Star Wars Outlaws, as revealed by the game’s ESRB rating. Ubisoft and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora developer Massive Entertainment announced that they were working on an open-world Star Wars game back in 2021, but it wasn’t until last June’s Xbox Games showcase that fans learned what it was going to be about. Star Wars Outlaws will put players in the role of Kay Vess, an aspiring outlaw looking to make her mark on the criminal underworld by pulling a massive heist against the rising Zerek Besh organization.
Hasbro has announced new Star Wars figures based on several droids from The Mandalorian. The models are planned to be released as part of a bundle, which Star Wars collectors will be able to get from just one retail chain in summer 2024.
A spokesperson for Ubisoft addressed concerns over Star Wars Outlaws' controversial Jabba the Hutt DLC mission. Fans of a galaxy far, far away have rallied against the publisher for the price point of its Star Wars Outlaws special edition packages, which come with price tags ranging from $109.99 to $129.99. The community was particularly displeased with the reveal of an exclusive DLC mission for Jabba the Hutt, which will only be playable for users who purchased one of the special bundles or the season pass.
The upcoming Fortnite collaboration with Star Wars might feature Chewbacca, a highly anticipated character, as a cosmetic skin. The ESRB rating for Star Wars Outlaws has arrived, and while it's largely what you'd expect from an action game in the sci-fi franchise, it has revealed one notable detail: Sabacc is finally going to be playable in a Star Wars video game.
Ubisoft's upcoming Star Wars Outlaws will lock an exclusive mission featuring Jabba the Hutt behind the Season Pass. While Star Wars fans were excited about the concept of an open world title set in A Galaxy Far Far Away, the latest information revealed for Outlaws has been controversial. Star Wars Outlaws takes place before Return of the Jedi, and places its players in the role of Kay Vess, an ambitious scoundrel and thief from Cantonica. However, despite being an entirely single-player experience, Ubisoft has designed Star Wars Outlaws as an always-online title, with a Season Pass that will offer players access to exclusive content.
Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch later this year, and beyond offering an open world to explore, it's also going to allow players to step into the shoes of a scoundrel named Kay Vess. Needless to say, it's shaping up to be quite a departure from the lightsaber-swinging action we're used to from the recent Star Wars Jedi games, but the creative director of Outlaws says that the idea of having Jedi at the forefront of the game "didn't even enter the picture."
Content surrounding one of ' most iconic villains may be locked behind a paywall. The open-world game from Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment is set to see a new character, Kay Vess, explore the criminal underworld as she attempts to build her reputation and carry out the biggest heist the Outer Rim has ever seen.
With Star Wars Outlaws, developer Massive Entertainment is looking to deliver the ultimate Star Wars scoundrel fantasy, which, of course, means protagonist Kay Vess (and her adorable companion Nix) will be crossing paths with a number of different factions, the majority of them being criminal syndicates.
Star Wars Outlaws has received an age classification from the Entertainment Software Rating Board. The timing of its ESRB rating's emergence is an encouraging sign for fans, as it indicates that Star Wars Outlaws is on course to release without any delays.
continues a controversial trend that has become more prominent in recent years. Ubisoft recently revealed more about the upcoming AAA title's story, pre-order bonuses, and special editions, with a confirmed release date of August 30, 2024.
