The free-to-play action MMO is now available natively on PlayStation 5. Developer Dimensional Ink Games also shared its roadmap for the rest of 2024, including the Xbox Series X/S release and the launch of episodes 47, 48, and 49.
Publisher Daybreak announced DCUO’s PS5 release with a new trailer and blog post. While PS5 users could already play it through backward compatibility, Tuesday’s release should give players faster load times and smoother framerates. It also natively runs at 4K resolution.
Meanwhile, DC Universe Online’s 2024 roadmap includes the launch of Episode 47: Brainiac Returns. The new episode sees Brainiac launch attacks on both the Hall of Justice and the Hall of Doom. The Justice League and the Secret Society of Super-Villains must work together against a common enemy in two new raids.
Meanwhile, the update also adds the new Sunstone Fortress to DC Universe Online. Inspired by Superman’s Fortress of Solitude, the new base features a spectacular view of the Arctic Ocean. It arrives in April in celebration of Superman’s anniversary. The game is also planning an April Fool’s Day event. Meanwhile, June brings events celebrating Pride Month and Superman Day on June 12. Developers also hope to launch the Xbox Series X/S version of DCUO sometime in Quarter 2.
As for the rest of the year, developers plan to release Episode 48 in Q3, a bit earlier than planned. Fall will also see several new and returning events, including celebrating Batman Day in September and Wonder Woman Day in October. Finally, Episode 49 will launch in early 2025, as will DC Universe Online’s 14th-anniversary event.
