'The Wild Bastards' is about the best name I've heard for a gang of alien outlaws in a space-western, good enough that let's skip past the fact that the game was announced last year and we've only just noticed. Wild Bastards is the follow-up to Void Bastards, 2019's roguelikelike first-person shooter about a prisoner in a corporate nightmare forced to raid derelict spaceships on a wild goose chase. This time, it's leaning into crime, jaunting across the galaxy to resurrect a game of legendary outlaws, the Wild Bastards. Allow me to repeat that name: the Wild Bastards. Ascendant Studios' Immortals of Aveum is currently enjoying a new lease of life as a 'free' game on PlayStation Plus — and two major upgrades are coming soon. We’ve had plenty of hero shooters in the past, but Marvel Rivals will be the first time we’ve had one with literal superheroes. A new Marvel game will be officially announced tomorrow (that's the 27th March) at 8am PT / 11am ET / 3pm GMT. That's according to hype master Geoff Keighley, who's teasing the title on social media.

Helldivers 2 grunts can now call down the Quasar Cannon Stratagem, a heavy laser that's tailor-made for spreading democracy. The cannon is actually so efficient, that some helldivers are already begging developer Arrowhead Studios not to nerf it.

IllFonic will take over publishing for Predator: Hunting Grounds from Sony Interactive Entertainment and release the asymmetrical shooter for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in late 2024 alongside updates to the existing PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) versions, the developer announced.

Activision have revealed what's coming to Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone 2 in its upcoming Season 3 update. I've not played Hellgate: London, but I'm sure I must've passed it on the shelves in Gamestation (I'll never forget you, friend) way back when. There are few individuals as mysterious as Helldivers 2's galactic game master Joel – the man pulling all the strings of the war, constantly working to evolve the third-person shooter's evolving narrative, as well as issuing Major Orders to us all. 

One of my favourite things about Helldivers 2 is the fact it's home to a human game master, known as "Joel", who controls the narrative. Joel's been known to leave surprises, namely mechs before they officially launched a while back. And now he's seemingly granted a group of lucky players the chance to ride about in an armoured truck outfitted with guns. Maybe, just maybe this signals their imminent release?
