The Call of Duty franchise has had some brilliant maps since its inception over two decades ago. From the classic Carentan in Nazi-occupied France to the modern warfare of Shipment, it sure is a shooter with variety.
This tradition has continued in the free-to-play battle royale Warzone, which released three years ago and remains hugely popular. From Verdansk to Vondel, Warzone's maps vary in size to provide very different experiences. However, a fan favourite has been missing since the launch of Warzone 2.0 back in 2022 — Rebirth Island.
Based on the Alcatraz map from Black Ops 4, Rebirth Island was a small yet intricate zone that allowed for quick-paced action. If you're new to Warzone and missed it, you're in luck. The beloved map is returning very soon!
Let's take a closer look at the details.
Rebirth Island was a huge hit on the original Warzone, but wasn't included in 2.0. It also disappeared from the original game back in 2022 when Activision relaunched it.
An odd choice, but that doesn't matter now. It's returning to Warzone 2.0, as revealed in a tweet from the official Call of Duty X page. Check it out below:
So we'll make our return to the deathly rock in the sea on the 3rd of April!
There is also a trailer to coincide with the announcement that's set to drop later today (26th March). We'll share the YouTube window ready for when that happens below:
If you can't wait that long, you can always download Warzone Mobile (which released last week). Rebirth Island was a launch map for it, alongside the far vaster Verdansk.

The Keycard Easter Egg makes its return to Rebirth Island in Warzone’s Season 3 Update. This small quest was first introduced back during Call of Duty: Vanguard’s rendition of the beloved Resurgence map and tasks players with finding 3 keycards, each of which can open a Vault found near the southwest coast of the island. While it remains mostly the same as its previous iteration, there are a few changes that both returning and new players will want to know about so that can get all of this high-tier loot which includes Cash, Perk Packages, Advanced UAVs, and Loadout Drops.

Today’s AAA games require a lot of storage, and typically, they only get bigger post-launch as addition content and updates are applied. So, it’s somewhat surprising to report that Forza Motorsport – which launched at a very-meaty 130-GB-plus -- is actually shrinking in size with its latest patch. Forza Motorsport Update 7 will see the game’s file size reduced by around 25 GB on Xbox Series X and 29 GB on PC.
Another Prince of Persia game will hit the market on May 14 following a mid-April announcement, a prominent industry insider has claimed. Much like the recently released PoP: The Lost Crown, the upcoming title is said to be a spin-off instead of a new mainline entry in the Prince of Persia franchise.
Publisher Microids and newcomer developer Savage Level have revealed Flint: Treasure of Oblivion, a turn-based tactical RPG set in a world of piracy. This swashbuckling debut from Savage Level is due out in Q4 of this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and if today's debut trailer is any indication, it looks like a game worth keeping a spyglass on.
It’s shaping up to be a surprisingly busy year for pirate video games. Ubisoft finally released its long-delayed Skull & Bones (to middling reviews), while Sea of Thieves is setting its sails for PlayStation later this month. Both of those games are fine options for those looking to do some swashbuckling, but they’re also multiplayer-focused titles that are best enjoyed with a full crew. What options exist for solo players looking for a more story-driven single-player experience?
My Hero Academia season 7 is back on our screens very soon, but not quite yet. Fittingly, a quirk in the release schedule means we're getting multiple recap episodes before Izuku and his fellow super-powered alumni return for fresh adventures.
