Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Double Eleven have announced Prison Architect 2, the 3D successor to the prison management simulator Prison Architect. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on March 26 for $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99. PC pre-orders are available now.

A collection of five Phoenix Wright games - including some of the greatest visual novels of all time, in my opinion - is about to be discontinued on Steam, making it slightly less convenient to pick up the original Ace Attorney trilogy and its recent prequel games. That’s the bad news. The good news is you’ve got a month’s notice - and it’s on sale for the next week or so.

Nearly 12 years after game director Hideaki Itsuno released Dragon’s Dogma on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is finally almost here. Sony today unveiled the March 2024 lineup of new games for the PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra catalog. Jak and Daxter fans, whom PlayStation and Naughty Dog rarely acknowledge, got a win today as the PSP version of Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is getting rereleased for the first time via PlayStation Plus Premium on March 19.

It might be a bit of a controversial take, but I’ve always preferred the Ace Attorney games with Apollo Justice over those with Phoenix Wright. That’s not to say the Phoenix Wright originals are bad, but I just found Apollo a far more relatable and likeable character. That probably says a lot about me, but it’s why I’m so happy that Capcom  has finally graced us with a collection of Apollo’s various Chords of Steel workouts with the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy.

We acknowledge that not all of you will be interested in getting the Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Trilogy that Capcom has officially released today. But allow us to give you a brief glimpse into what this set of titles is like and why you should consider giving it a shot. Even if said games “aren’t your cup of tea.” First and foremost, these titles will have you playing as Apollo Justice, Athena Cykes, and Phoenix Wright as you attempt to save the world of law from corrupt forces across multiple countries. With three games to enjoy, that’s plenty of cases to dive into.

Capcom is responsible for bringing us hit franchises like Mega Man, Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, Final Fight, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and Resident Evil, to name a few, and, frankly, they’re all sick.

Not one game, but three, are included in the remastered , offering a combined total of over 90 hours of mysteries and courtroom drama for sleuthing players to enjoy. Capcom's remastered trilogy featuring 's prodigy includes,, and along with many extras and updates. For the $50 price tag, evidence would show that there is a lot of entertainment value to be had in these courtroom text adventures.

Outsiders of the Ace Attorney series might not be familiar with the name Apollo Justice, but fans know the character is a big deal. He's second only to Phoenix Wright in terms of playable appearances, and his new collection, the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, gathers all of those outings in one convenient package. While there's not much new content, quality-of-life improvements and a visual overhaul do a lot to modernize Apollo's courtroom saga, making it a worthwhile journey for fans new and old.

2019 saw the re-release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles released in the West a couple of years later, and later this week, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy will be releasing, but though there’s been no shortage of Ace Attorney re-releases, the last time we got a new game in the series was all the way back in 2016 with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice.

A producer from Capcom gave fans of the Ace Attorney franchise some good news, promising that the publisher isn't abandoning the series anytime soon. The first Ace Attorney game was released in 2001 on the Game Boy Advance. Ever since, it has spawned a trilogy on the handheld console, which was then ported to the Nintendo DS and brought over to the West. With its surprise popularity, Ace Attorney would help show the appeal of visual novel games in the West.

Capcom has confirmed that, despite not getting a brand-new game since 2017, the Ace Attorney series is not finished and will have more games in the future.

It’s always interesting to see what franchises do well in the gaming world and which don’t. You’d think an anime-style lawyer franchise wouldn’t “resonate” with gamers because it’s more about logical thinking and sleuthing while not having “meaningful action” compared to other titles. Yet, the franchise known as Ace Attorney has been around for quite some time, and many hope to see more entries from it. But, for those who haven’t been able to partake in the entirety of the main games, you’re in luck, as the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy arrives next week and will complete the “main story” of the universe.

Earlier this year, Capcom announced Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, a collection of the second trilogy of its adventure series, which is set to launch in January. After spending hours poring over Alan Wake 2 this week, corkboards full of photos, red string and important little clue nuggets have definitely been on my brain. Alas, Remedy's horror-fuelled detective 'em up keeps its problem-solving a little too much at arm's length for my tastes. Every piece of evidence you collect has its own set place on the board, for example, and heck, even the thrill of joining the dots with a set of pins and string is taken away from you, as its deduction work is all swept up in a wave of automation.

Capcom has had several excellent video game releases this year, and there are more hot titles on the way. If you can tear yourself away from Resident Evil 4, its Separate Ways DLC, or Street Fighter 6, you can free yourself to crush prosecutors in crazy courtroom capers or slay monsters in the coming weeks and months. Xbox announced a slew of new titles coming to its Game Pass subscription service this year. At its Tokyo Game Show segment, held Thursday, the publisher confirmed that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be available to members for free on day one i.e., November 9. In it, Kazama Kiryu, the famous Yakuza who faked his death to protect his family, slips into the black suit once again and works as a bodyguard codenamed ‘Joryu.' His cover is soon threatened when a mysterious figure with ties to the past comes to haunt him, spawning a crazed frenzy across the streets of Japan, as we punch our way through hordes.

Microsoft has announced a string of titles from top Japanese developers coming to Xbox and/or Xbox Game Pass over the next few months.

Microsoft made a number of announcements during its Xbox Digital Broadcast at Tokyo Game Show 2023, most of which revolved around Japan and Japan-inspired games and updates. Xbox boss Phil Spencer and Head of Xbox Creator Experience Sarah Bond talked about the importance of the Japanese market. "Japan will always have a special place in my heart for pioneering innovative ways to play, from the Game Boy, to PSP, to the Switch," Spencer said.

In an announcement I personally never could have predicted, the 2001 PlayStation 2 Capcom video game Onimusha: Warlords (and subsequent sequels) is getting an anime adaption for Netflix. The reveal is surprising for a number of reasons. The franchise is not one that is particularly well-known or currently popular. Also, the anime seems to have little to do with the original game. Protagonist Samanosuke Akechi does not make an appearance in the trailer. But, like Samanosuke, who was modeled after Japanese actor Kaneshiro Takeshi,the anime's protagonist, Miyamoto Musashi, is modeled after the late Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune. Coincidentally, Onimusha 2's protagonist, Jubei Yagyu, was modeled after Japanese actor Yūsaku Matsuda, who had also passed away well before the game released. It's an odd throughline for the series but is a key element.

It's finally time for everybody — not just the early access folks — to get them some Starfield. You, uh, may have noticed the odd video on this site about this RPG. Some game franchises are so good, you bag 'em all in one hit. Especially if they're going for at or near Happy Meal prices. Case in points: the Phoenix Wright, Borderlands, and BioShock trilogies on Switch. I'm also about cheap prices for the Batman Arkham, Mass Effect, and Tomb Raider survivor trilogies as well. They may not mean cutting edge visuals, but they're all approaching triple digit hours of otherwise timeless gaming.
