PowerWash Simulator's latest collaboration is with Games Workshop’s iconic Warhammer 40K IP and the DLC is out next week on February 27.

An official artbook for the upcoming third-person shooter Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 has leaked online, and it includes a significant amount of information on as-of-yet unannounced features in the game, including a full-on PvP mode. Though this information may not come directly from the developer itself, many Warhammer 40K fans seem thrilled to finally have additional details about this much-anticipated title.

The introduction of the first female Adeptus Custodes to the Warhammer 40K canon caused a heated debate to break out among fandom members. The elite faction of gene-edited soldiers has primarily been regarded as an all-male force in previous tidbits of lore, but a recently revamped codex has since confirmed the existence of female custodes. While this wasn't the first time Warhammer 40K developer Games Workshop retconned the franchise's canon, this specific change was not entirely welcomed by all members of the community.

Sega has announced that three companies under its umbrella are facing layoffs, and it has also sold Relic Entertainment, the well-known developer behind multiple successful franchises. Since its founding in 1997, Relic Entertainment has released several popular games, including four Warhammer 40,000 titles, Company of Heroes and its two sequels, the first two games in the Homeworld series, and Age of Empires 4. The company has earned a reputation in the industry primarily as a skillful developer of real-time strategy games but has dabbled in other genres as well.

After weeks of leaks and speculation, Call of Duty has revealed more about its upcoming crossover with the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. A new trailer featuring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 andWarzone cosmetics shows off a series of looks inspired by the game's factions and characters in action.

The Xbox Game Pass catalog has just expanded to include Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. This is the first March 2024 addition to Microsoft's subscription service, as well as the 28th title to reach Xbox Game Pass since the turn of the year.

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone are receiving Warhammer 40K-themed skins sometime soon. The announcement comes after months of leaks and speculation around such an event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Warhammer 40K Gladius has introduced the Drukhari (or Dark Eldar) as its 11th playable faction via a new DLC released by publisher Slitherine.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2011 original, has been given a hefty delay until next year to give the game more time in the oven. While this might be disappointing for some, many fans are hopeful the game will be the better for it.

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, the next cRPG by Owlcat Games launching next month on PC and consoles, is going to be the first game by the studio to feature co-op multiplayer.

Today, Owlcat Games released a new trailer for the upcoming cRPG Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. The video is focused on showcasing some of the consequences of the player's actions.

Getting a hold of the latest products for Warhammer 40,000 can be tricky, given the game’s huge surge in popularity. But getting vintage 40K products — known as OldHammer to collectors — is even harder with sought-after models and rare books selling for huge mark-ups online. So this weekend Games Workshop is throwing us a bone (likely part of a skull) and reprinting the original rules for 40K, first released in 1987. The print-on-demand run of new old books begins Oct. 14 and runs through Oct. 23, according to a news release.

Last week, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, the latest co-op action game from Warhammer: Vermintide developer Fatshark, finally arrived on Xbox Series X/S. While the game was originally supposed to arrive on Xbox “shortly” after the PC release, it ended up taking nearly a year, so how has the console version shaped up with that extra development time? Well… the folks at Digital Foundry took the Xbox Series X/S version for a spin, and the results weren’t that hot. Warhammer 40k Darktide patch 13 is out now, making it probably the best time since launch to jump back into the co-op shooter if you’ve been holding out for its massive class overhaul. One of the most substantial Darktide updates since the game’s launch, the Left 4 Dead style grimdark FPS and 40k counterpart to the Warhammer Vermintide games just released a massive list of reasons to return.

Destiny 2 is known for its dynamic action, longstanding narrative, and impressive weaponry, but it’s also one of the best multiplayer Warhammer 40K experiences around. While there are plenty of surface differences between the franchises, Destiny 2 is built from the same stuff that has kept 40K fans loyal since the 80s. Of course, it’s by no means a perfect translation. There are legitimate Warhammer 40K games out there that incorporate actual lore and characters. But if players want to engage in an immersive grimdark future where super-powered protectors of humanity confront galaxy-wide conflict against alien factions and supernatural entities, Destiny is the place to be.

Even in a post-Baldur's Gate 3 afterglow, I love Owlcat's 2021 CRPG epic, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. It's a game so good, I didn't mind replaying its opening act three times. Even as Owlcat gears up for its next major release, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, the studio's still lining up Wrath of the Righteous' fifth DLC expansion.

It's been a great year for roleplaying game fans thanks to the release of several great games, chiefly the long-awaited cRPG Baldur's Gate 3 (now in pole position for Game of the Year awards after a near-flawless critical reception), and Owlcat Games made it even better when it announced that Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader would launch in early December on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.

Is there any appetite for a deep, sci-fi roleplaying experience amongst the PlayStation faithful? Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is (shockingly) the first isometric CRPG set in Game's Workshop bleak universe, developed by Owlcat Games, creators of the excellent Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. It finally has a release date: prepare for a grimdark future in which there is only war from 7th December on PS5.

The CRPG is looking like it might be one of the best Warhammer 40k games in a while, and fortunately we won’t be waiting too long to play it. Built by the team behind Pathfinder videogame Wrath of the Righteous and based on the tabletop RPG of the same name, Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader promises to follow in the footsteps of Baldur’s Gate 3 in delivering faithful tabletop adaptations.

Roleplaying games fans may be looking forward to ending a year of incredible releases with Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.

Earlier this week I attended a hands-off preview for Owlcat's forthcoming CRPG Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, which is shaping up nicely, inasmuch as there's anything "nice" about a Warhammer 40,000 game. Rogue Trader is a party-based affair in which you play a sort of Warhammer East Indies Company, tasked with flipping outlying worlds to the Imperium. In order to carry out this goal, you're granted a lot more individual license than most human residents of the 40K universe. You can, for instance, recruit ungodly xenos to your grimdark troupe, operate a private armada, and even colonise planets and turn them into your own personal piggybank. Just watch you don't push the whole "heresy" thing too far.

A whole host of new units, including Space Marine Warhammer 40K reinforcements and a new addition to the upcoming Old World game, have just been unveiled at the Nova Open event in Washington DC. 

We still don’t know when we’ll be able to play the unexpected - but welcome - Warhammer 40k Gears of War-a-like sequel Space Marine 2, but we can at least get a look at who we’ll be shooting in the face when it arrives. 10 minutes of extended gameplay footage have teased the appearance of Chaos marines in the upcoming shooter, along with lots of slow, stompy walking through its grimdark universe.

Publisher Focus Interactive will host a special livestream next week, focusing on «extended gameplay presentations» for both Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 and Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. The two titles have shown promise in previous trailers, with Space Marine 2 in particular attracting some positive previews at Gamescom.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 has looked pretty damn promising in every gameplay snippet we've seen so far, and now it feels like the hype for this long-awaited sequel has just reached new heights. Previews from Gamescom are starting to trickle online, and based on everything we've read, there's real reason to be excited.

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 is playable on the Gamescom 2023 showfloor. If you're not in Cologne, though, IGN has shared the official 14-minute-long gameplay video in glorious 4K resolution.

Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 is looking rather good. Building on the high-octane over-the-shoulder action of the first, this co-op third-person fantasy game will see you facing down huge swarms of Tyranids, with the insectoid xenos arriving in vast swarms courtesy of developer Saber Interactive’s World War Z tech. As Space Marine 2 creative director Oliver Hollis-Leick tells us in an interview at Gamescom 2023 ahead of the Space Marine 2 release date, the likes of Aliens and Starship Troopers were big influences on the team.

Good combat is not everything in role-playing games, but it sure doesn’t hurt. And in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, combat is looking pretty damn good.

Developer Fatshark has revealed the co-op grim dark shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will finally be coming to Xbox Series X|S consoles on October 4, almost a year after its 2022 PC release.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide has had a problematic launch that forced the developer to fix the game before releasing new content and the Xbox Series S|X version. However, developer Fatshark hasn't thrown in the towel and is now presenting a major new feature that will go live in October: full-fledged RPG-style skill trees for each class.

The development team behind Warhammer 40K: Darktide has confirmed that an overhaul to the current class system is coming with new RPG elements inbound. No exact date has been offered, but it's believed to be coming before the game's anniversary on November 30. 

Nine months since launch, Warhammer 40K: Darktide sits on Steam with a «Mixed» review score, both in recent and all-time reviews. There were more than a few criticisms of Darktide at launch—the unfinished crafting system, the cosmetics store, crashes and performance issues—but one of the most common and consistent I've seen is that Darktide has only four character classes, compared to its predecessor Vermintide 2's five characters (with multiple subclasses apiece). Though Darktide does offer some nicely varied skills as you level up and weapons that dramatically change your play style, it was hard not to look at the class system as a downgrade from what Vermintide 2 players were used to.

The next incoming Warhammer 40K Darktide update will bring a bunch of welcome changes to the co-op shooter.

If you’re a Warhammer 40k fan you’ve undoubtedly (and perhaps unfortunately) heard of Darktide, the spiritual successor to Vermintide, arguably one of the best Warhammer 40k games ever made. Unfortunately, Darktide didn’t quite live up to the reputation of its predecessor, so if you’ve been reluctant to splash the cash on it but have always fancied testing out your Psyker skills on some heretics, then I have good news: it’s on sale, just ahead of the Space Marine 2 release date.

Part of the fun of Warhammer 40,000 is that no one is really the “good guy” in the setting. Take the Imperium of Man, which largely serves as the point-of-view faction in 40K books and games. The Imperium is made up of a coalition of absolutely terrible sub-factions, including murderous nuns who torch their foes, indoctrinated child soldiers transformed into transhuman combat marines, and flesh-hating tech priests who make brain-computers by lobotomizing criminals.
