Today, Owlcat Games released a new trailer for the upcoming cRPG Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. The video is focused on showcasing some of the consequences of the player's actions.
Every choice you make affects the game’s story. While exploring, you will be met with a great number of hard decisions. Do you try to save the population of a dying world or burn it all with the intent of containing heresy? Will you attempt to bargain with the enemies of Humankind for forbidden power?
And what are your priorities? Acquisition of personal resources or servitude to the Emperor? All these decisions will affect the whole sub-sector, attracting the uncomfortable attention of Inquisitor Calcazar, who is currently overseeing the Koronus Expanse. Depending on your previous actions and answers during the interrogation, the outcomes of this conversation will change dramatically.
Your responses may even set you on a specific path, unlocking a unique game ending. It’s not only Calcazar, who is tracking your every step. Koronus Expanse is rich with enemies, allies, and everyone in between. So, think carefully about your choices and be prepared to face their consequences.
Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader is the first cRPG set in the Games Workshop franchise. Developed by the same studio behind Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, it's set to launch on December 7th for PC (Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. Francesco checked out the game's beta build a while ago; you may read his impressions here. The beta is actually still available for those who pre-order directly from the official website.
Last month, I spoke with Creative Director Alexander Mishulin about the studio's approach to adapting the Rogue Trader ruleset, the increased amount of cinematics compared to their previous titles, the nuanced approach to romances with player companions, and the potential support for user-made mods on PC.

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, the next cRPG by Owlcat Games launching next month on PC and consoles, is going to be the first game by the studio to feature co-op multiplayer.
Owlcat Games have whisked the wrappers off Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader's co-op functionality, explaining how you and up to five other players can team up to navigate the Games Workshop RPG's 100-plus hours of grid-based combat, violent religious differences and unrepentant planetary colonisation.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a game about one of the most powerful groups of people in the far future of the 42nd millennium: the titular Rogue Traders. But every good Rogue Trader is backed up by a crew of allies, ranging from close confidants to powerful goons. Along with a sprawling single-player campaign, the upcoming CRPG from Owlcat Games offers a drop-in, drop-out co-op mode that allows you to bring your friends along for a ride through the Koronus Expanse. Polygon played through a preview session of Rogue Trader’s co-op campaign with Owlcat Games, and we tackled a dungeon full of dangerous machine cultists together.
