If there’s one thing PlayStation Plus Premium is missing it’s a good library of PS2 classics. Since Sony relaunched PS Plus in 2022 with multiple tiers, it feels like those paying top whack for the online service have been short-changed when it comes to the lineup of older PlayStation games being emulated on PS4 and PS5.

Sony has insisted multiple times over the years that Microsoft’s Game Pass-centric model is not one that would work for PlayStation. The company has made it abundantly clear that it has no plans in the foreseeable future to start putting all of its games on a subscription service day and date, believing that that would have an adverse impact on sales (something that Microsoft itself has also admitted). Now, leaked internal documents emerging from the recent Insomniac Games data breach have revealed data that seems to lend weight to that notion.

While it’s swiftly becoming the season for Christmas gift-giving, sometimes it’s hard to work out what to get for the gamers in your life. There’s so many peripherals, platforms and pricey deluxe editions that it can be a confusing time for anyone, especially if you have no idea how to tell the difference between an XStation and a Nintendo Twitch, and a Fortnite is something you hope to have off at the end of December. TheSixthAxis is here to help though, with a batch of different Christmas gifts for gamers that should match any budget.

It will once again cost Rs. 47,990 — down from Rs. 57,990 — it was originally touted as a limited-time offer, and comes packaged with a 4K Bluray-equipped disc variant of the console and a voucher code for the titular sports game. The PlayStation Black Friday sale ends November 30.

Sony has announced that PS5 cloud streaming will be launching for all PS Plus Premium subscribers later this month, giving remote access to full fat PlayStation 5 games from the PS Plus Game Catalog, support for Game Trials, as well as a selection of games that are owned by members.
Sony is launching cloud streaming for the PS5 console, later this month. The feature will be available to PS Plus Premium — highest-tier — members only, letting them stream select Game Catalog titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, and more, without having to download or actually own them. Unfortunately, it's getting a staggered rollout, first launching in Japan, Europe, and North American regions, promising ‘hundreds' of PS5 games in the future. The company confirmed the addition and testing of cloud streaming in June, as part of its pivot towards the technology, further solidified by its PlayStation Portal handheld device.
Since launching the all-new PlayStation Plus more than a year ago, we’ve seen such high engagement from our fans on our offerings – from the quality titles offered in the Game Catalog like Horizon Forbidden West and Sea of Stars, to new trophy features we’ve added to classic games like Legend of Dragoon and Syphon Filter.
The PS Plus October Essential games have been confirmed by Sony, with the October line up having a suitably scary and weird feel. This follows last month’s though, as Sony announced PS Plus price increases that came into effect on 6th September, raising prices 20% in the UK, 26% in Europe and a staggering 33% in the US.
Sony has officially revealed the latest games joining the Monthly Games line-up for PlayStation Plus. Starting October 3rd and until November 6th, PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can claim The Callisto Protocol, Farming Simulator 22 and Weird West for free. Of course, these will also be available for Extra and Premium subscribers.
A month hardly ever goes by where PlayStation Plus’ free offerings don’t get leaked ahead of time, and sure enough, over on Dealabs, serial leaker billbil-kun has spilled the beans – at least partially – on the free games that Sony will be offering to PlayStation Plus subscribers during the month of October.
Here are the games leaving PlayStation Plus in October 2023. Next month will the PS Plus library take a considerable hit with 16 games leaving, shortly after Sony announced a major price hike for their subscription-based service. Two major franchises are pulling fan-favourite titles, with a pair of recent horror hits also being untimely removed just before Halloween.
A new month means a fresh selection of games joining the PlayStation Game Catalog. All the titles will be playable from Tuesday, September 19. Let’s dive in.
There’s a nasty sting in the tail of Sony’s PS Plus monthly games announcement, as they have confirmed that the prices for all 12-month PS Plus subscription plans (Essential, Extra and Premium) will be increasing from 6th September 2023.
PlayStation Plus is getting a price hike soon. Sony has confirmed plans to raise the prices for its PS Plus yearly subscriptions, starting September 6, across all three tiers. The news was buried underneath their monthly blog post, which lists the new free games coming to the service. As D-day nears, the base PS Plus Essential plan will cost $79.99 (about Rs. 6,611) for a 12-month subscription, going up from the current $60 (about Rs. 4,959) price tag. Due to regional pricing, however, Indian prices should be significantly lower — currently, a yearly plan of PS Plus Essential costs Rs. 2,999 in the country. The increase hasn't been announced in INR, so to get a good estimate, I think it'd be best to compare it to the Japanese cost, which will soon rise to JPY 6,800 (about Rs. 3,850).
The PS Plus Essential Games for September 2023 have been announced with a fresh trio of bundled in games that are headlined by the 2022 reboot of Saints Row.

Sony has planned yet another promotional sale for the PS5 in India, promising a discount of Rs. 7,500. The offer is only applicable on the 4K Bluray-equipped disc version of the console, and goes live Thursday, August 24, at select online and brick-and-mortar retailers. The sale is slated to run for nine days, going into September 2, and will cut the price down to Rs. 47,490. The drop is exactly the same as the July sale, so in case you missed that one, now would be a good time to snag a PS5. While supply shortages are certainly not an issue anymore, we'd suggest being a little prepared since flocks of gamers coming together to buy the console (online) could cause server loads.

Sony has reportedly begun rolling out public beta access for cloud gaming on the PS5. As per ResetEra user ArashiGames, chosen PS Plus Premium members will be able to stream select games at up to 4K resolution. While the company confirmed the addition of cloud streaming in June, it's only now that we're learning about the supported resolution. That said, it's unclear whether the maximum resolution refers to the in-game graphical fidelity or the streaming resolution, but a screenshot suggests that available resolutions are entirely dependent on the player's internet connection. The core idea is that you can play games from the cloud without actually owning or downloading any of them.
