The tiered PlayStation Plus service still struggles to establish itself as a credible Xbox Game Pass alternative, and the recent effort to add value with video content for PS Plus Premium subscribers has somehow made the service worse for many. In late 2021, Sony launched the Bravia Core streaming service, a niche product offered only with Sony’s Bravia TVs. Though it promised superior fidelity in movie playback, the service did not offer a fully stocked streaming library akin to Netflix or a vast storefront like Amazon’s Prime Video. Now rebranded Sony Pictures Core, PS Plus Premium subscribers have been promised a library of free films, but the app is riddled with bugs.

Here are the games leaving PlayStation Plus in October 2023. Next month will the PS Plus library take a considerable hit with 16 games leaving, shortly after Sony announced a major price hike for their subscription-based service. Two major franchises are pulling fan-favourite titles, with a pair of recent horror hits also being untimely removed just before Halloween.
If you’re currently bingeing the Far Cry of Yakuza series, then we’ve got some bad news. Next month will see a number of titles removed including Far Cry 5 and Yakuza 5 Remastered. With the latter being some 50+ hours long, you’ll need to book in some playdates with Kiryu to get it finished before it leaves PlayStation Plus. There are also smaller yet unmissable titles we’d recommend blasting through, namely Limbo and Inside.
Like many popular television and film streaming services, PlayStation Plus will periodically add and remove titles from its gaming on demand library. There’s always a likelihood that a game you’re playing may disappear from the lineup, so it’s always best to keep an eye on which games are due to leave.

In 2022, a PlayStation Plus relaunch rolled out around the world, transforming the PS Plus we once knew into a three tiered subscription service that bundles in and expands what was once PlayStation Now. PS Plus Extra then adds a catalogue of PS4 and PS5 games into the mix, while PS Plus Deluxe and Premium (depending on your region) adds older PS2, PS1 and PSP game emulation, and game streaming for PS3 and other titles.

Gotham Knights leads the pack of new titles coming to the PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe/ Premium game catalog, this month. Starting October 17, all higher-tier PS Plus members can hop onto their Batcycles and ride around the streets of Gotham City, beating up all kinds of volatile criminals in the hopes of unmasking the enigmatic Court of Owls. Players can switch between Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and the Red Hood throughout the story to investigate Batman/ Bruce Wayne's death, and build out their character via a gear system.
