The Aplril 2024 PlayStation Plus monthly games have been confirmed, with Sony pulling together a trio of games for all PS Plus subscribers – Essentials, Extra and Premium. Headlining this month’s selection is the magic-infused FPS Immortals of Aveum, but what else is coming down the pipe?
Making a break from the norm there’s actually four games this month, available from the first Tuesday, 5th March.
Aran give a score of 7/10 in our Immortals of Aveum review. “Immortals of Aveum is the epitome of a good game,” he said. “The characters are well-acted and the world design is fantastic. The story though feels too safe and there’s no real wow moment. While the combat is fun too, you’ll have seen the majority of enemy types quite early on, and combat does become repetitive.”
There was a bit of intrigue leading up to the release of Immortals of Aveum, with EA publishing a good old fashions narrative-led first person shooter. Unfortunately, the game launched with underwhelming sales, significantly underperforming expectations. That’s why it’s now on PS Plus half a year after launch…

April's PS Plus Essential games have been officially announced, and as per usual, we're looking at three titles spread across PS5 and PS4. At a glance, however, we're tempted to say that this is one of the weaker months in recent memory.

Sony has announced the slate of free games arriving on PlayStation Plus in April. The PS Plus monthly games for next month include first-person spell shooter Immortals of Aveum, spinoff strategy title Minecraft Legends and roguelike-action platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer. All three games will be accessible to PS Plus subscribers across Essential, Extra and Deluxe/Premium tiers starting April 2. Sony had also confirmed the games coming to the PS Plus Game Catalog earlier this month, with NBA 2K24, Marvel's Midnight Suns and Resident Evil 3 leading the lineup.
Earthblade, the next project from Celeste developer Extremely OK Games, won't be out in 2024, but progress is being made.
Alongside the announced acquisition of Gearbox by Take-Two Interactive, publishing subsidiary 2K Games has also confirmed that the next Borderlands game is in active development.
