An Overwatch 2 fan had an impressive piece of fan art commissioned that imagines what a Fallout-themed Mercy skin might look like in the hero-shooter game. The original Overwatch featured all kinds of unique skins for players to unlock for the game's various heroes, but it largely stayed away from crossover skins. That has changed with Overwatch 2, which has embraced crossover skins as part of the game's live-service model.

World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch maker Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that BlizzCon 2024 will not be happening.

Blizzard Entertainment has canceled this year’s fan convention BlizzCon, which was expected to be held in Anaheim, California in November. The company, which is now owned by Microsoft, announced the cancelation on Thursday, but promised to bring the event back “in future years.”

Following the introduction of a whole new currency to Overwatch 2 with the release of its tenth season, one fan of the game shares an odd bug which causes a spray item to cost Mythic Prisms rather than credits, resulting in the usually inexpensive cosmetic item surpassing the cost of an entire Mythic skin. Overwatch 2's new Mythic Prism currency allows players to purchase any of the Mythic skins introduced to the game so far, and can be obtained from the premium battle pass as well as via optional microtransactions.

Although Hanamura doesn't appear in regular Quick Play or Competitive playlists, along with all other Overwatch 2 maps that are part of the old Assault game mode, these levels have nonetheless existed in the game since launch and are accessible via either the Arcade game mode or through custom games.

Like many other multiplayer games, Overwatch 2isn't immune from cheaters. And it's not only an issue on PC, where cheaters use tools like aimbots. Some folks use XIM devices so they can play with a keyboard and mouse (KBM) on consoles. This is against Blizzard's rules, as KBM players typically have an aim advantage over those who use a controller, even though the console versions of the game have features like aim assist. While it's taken some time to get the ball rolling, the developer is finally doing something about the XIM problem.

The Overwatch 2 developers at Blizzard are taking action against players using unapproved peripherals on consoles, such as mouse and keyboard. This particular issue has been affecting the Overwatch 2 community since launch, as keyboard and mouse players on consoles gain a significant advantage against controller users in Quick Play and Competitive.

Overwatch 2 season 10 is now live, with a few important changes to how Blizzard is monetizing the game. Most notably, the hero shooter’s new hero Venture is free for all players, and no longer locked behind the battle pass. Overwatch 2’s battle pass now also pays out multiple kinds of currency, including the premium paid currency known as Overwatch Coins and a new type of currency called Mythic Prisms, which players can spend on mythic-tier skins.

Overwatch 2 players have been left confused after discovering that using swear words while playing the game can potentially get their accounts suspended, as Blizzard customer service reiterates that "profanity has never been allowed in our games."

Mirrorwatch, the reversed reality game mode coming in Overwatch 2 Season 10, will be taking place from April 23 through May 13. Overwatch 2 Season 10 is a particularly exciting season for the hero shooter for a number of reasons. The headlining new addition in Overwatch 2 Season 10 is the long-awaited debut of brand-new Damage hero Venture.

Season 10 of Overwatch 2 will be a big one for Blizzard’s free-to-play shooter. It will introduce a new hero in Venture, a new damage-class addition to the roster, and the first taste of a brand-new game mode, Clash. We’re also getting a very evil-looking Mercy.

Blizzard is giving the heroes and villains of Overwatch new allegiances in season 10 of Overwatch 2, thanks to a new Mirrorwatch mode coming to the competitive hero shooter. That means heroic versions of baddies like Widowmaker, Doomfist, and Sombra, and villainous versions of good guys Reinhardt, Tracer, and Brigitte.

Blizzard is taking mid-match leaves on Overwatch 2 more seriously and is implementing harsher punishments when Season 10 arrives. People playing Unranked games won't be able to join a queue for five minutes after leaving two of their last 20 games. And if they leave at least 10 out of the last 20, they'll be suspended for 48 hours. Players probably want to be even more careful when it comes to leaving Competitive games, though, because doing so 10 times out of 20 will get them banned for the rest of the season. In its announcement, Blizzard said that while it's aware not everyone abandons a game on purpose, these changes «should help curb those players who deliberately choose to leave a match.»

That patch landed on April Fools’ Day, of course, bringing back googly-eyed heroes and a sweeping set of changes to characters’ abilities. It’s a chance for Overwatch 2 players to have a week’s worth of chaotic fun, and for Blizzard to test out some secretly very good tweaks to the game.

Overwatch fans eagerly wait for the release of the April Fools Update every year, and the event is back with some hilarious changes. The Overwatch 2 event is well-known for the googly eyes as well as the comical voice lines, but fans look forward to the ability changes the most.

Overwatch 2 Season 10 kicks off next month, but if you want to try out the season’s hew hero Venture early, you can do it this weekend. Venture, who Blizzard is touting at their first non-binary character, is a Damage hero and, overall, one of the more unique-looking characters Blizzard has served up thus far. Marvel Rivals was announced earlier today, and unless you've lived under a rock over the past decade, you'll notice that it shares a pretty uncanny resemblance to Overwatch. Both titles sharing the same genre was always going to draw those comparisons, but there seems to be even more similarities when you take a closer look at the game's roster.

Earlier today, developer NetEase Games revealed Marvel Rivals, their take on the hero shooter genre that Overwatch popularized, but with actual heroes. PlayStation Plus subscribers’ free Essential games for the month of April are Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends, and Skul: The Hero Slayer, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on Wednesday. Players can download the trio of games beginning Tuesday, April 2.

The next hero coming to Overwatch 2, Venture, will be playable this weekend for free as part of a limited-time trial that will run from March 28-31, Blizzard Entertainment announced Wednesday. Marvel Rivals, a new team-based, 6v6 PVP shooter filled to the brim with Marvel characters, has been officially revealed following plenty of rumors and leaks. Developed by NetEase Games with collaboration from Marvel Games, the free-to-play PC game has everyone from Iron Man to Black Panther to Spider-Man to Storm.

Overwatch 2 might be working on introducing new types of Mythic cosmetics besides skins. While Overwatch 2 hasn’t confirmed anything yet, a recent interview response seemed to suggest these customizations were a distinct possibility.

Overwatch 2 is considering changing how the DPS passive works for Tanks in the future. While it seems satisfied with the new healing penalty in general, Overwatch 2 may eventually make it less severe on Tanks to ensure they can fulfill their roles more easily.
