TeamKill Media’s Quantum Error has looked like an intriguing prospect ever since its announcement in 2020, and with the cosmic horror shooter now just a few days away from its release, the developer has released a launch trailer to offer a glimpse of what it’ll have in store.

Publisher CI Games and developer Hexworks have released the launch trailer for dark fantasy action RPG Lords of the Fallen.

It’s no secret that Hexworks, the developers of Lords of the Fallen, have taken a massive amount of inspiration from FromSoftware’s souls-like genre. Releasing later this week on October 13, Lords of the Fallen will see players explore a grim open world with two connected realms while taking on challenging boss encounters that might make you throw your controller in a fit of rage.

While it may not have been on everyone’s “wish list” for 2023, Detective Pikachu Returns has arrived for Nintendo Switch. The game is a sequel to the hit Nintendo 3DS title that inspired the equally popular adaptation that starred Ryan Reynolds as Detective Pikachu. The game puts players in a unique version of the Pokemon world where a young man named Tim Goodman can understand a particular Pikachu that can solve mysteries and drinks a heck of a lot of coffee. The unusual game was much different from the mainline series, and that’s likely what drew people to it, and now, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company are hoping it draws people in again.

Blizzard Entertainment’s launch trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 7: Rise of Darkness debuted recently, revealing the new Halloween-themed content and skins. The world needs stuff but stuff is over there and civilization is over here, and that’s why we have logistics.  One of the most efficient bits of transportation infrastructure is the basic all-purpose train, which despite the business’ history both recent and since its inception is romanticized to no end.  There’s just something that feels right about these massive, powerful machines carting goods across the countryside, connecting suppliers of raw materials with hubs of industry and eventually the towns and cities that need the final product.  It takes actual effort not to love watching trains go about their routes and there have been uncountable dozens of games letting people get their hands on every aspect of the industry, from being a conductor, to running it as a business, and even playing with a wooden train set.  Station to Station is the latest train game and it’s a chilled take on the genre, letting you plop down stations and tracks to connect the buildings on an idyllic but washed-out landscape, bringing life and color to the world with every new connection.

Leading up to the October 5 release date for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Ubisoft has released a launch trailer for the title featuring music by OneRepublic and Mishaal Tamer. The trailer gives us a look at Baghdad as the game’s primary setting, while also showcasing the assassination prowess of protagonist Basim. Check it out below.

Assassin’s Creed fans are preparing to dive into a brand-new adventure this coming month. The next game was unveiled to take players to 9th-century Baghdad, where we will follow Basim Ibn Ishaq in his journey of becoming a member of the Assassin Brotherhood. While the game was initially set to release later in the month of October, the developers managed to get this game done ahead of schedule. Today, a new launch was released as we wait for October 5, 2023, to finally arrive.

There’s a hoop on a pole at either end of the court and the one rule is to sink the sphere through yours better than the other crew can through theirs.  Technically there’s no limit on the number of ways you could do this, whether that be a bank-shot off the backboard or swishing it on through with an arcing shot, but robots care little for such imprecision.  The only sure method of getting a glowing energy orb through a hoop is by shoving it through with great force, preferably ending with hanging off the rim because a robot’s job isn’t just a utilitarian completion of function but also looking good while doing it.

CD Projekt have dropped the launch trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, in great news for fans of driving-combat-cutscene montages and wailing, rain-slicked theme tunes, but less great news, apparently, for mega fans of the male-presenting incarnation of player character V, voiced by Gavin Drea. I haven't touched Cyberpunk since release in 2020, and I'm sort of intrigued to discover that the female-presenting version of the protagonist, voiced by Cherami Leigh, has become the default for marketing purposes.

Cyberpunk 2077 has made a remarkable turnaround with last week’s launch of the comprehensive Update 2.0, and that turnaround is set to be cemented with its upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty. There’s quite a bit of hype and a resurgence with Cyberpunk 2077. The video game, as you all know, had a very rocky launch. This title was filled with bugs and technical issues that even prompted Sony to remove the game completely from their PlayStation Store. So, with all these issues clearly present with the base game, CD Projekt Red was forced to scrap most of its post-launch content planned. Instead, the developers went to work to ensure the game met their standards. That took a lot of time, but we’re finally at that point where you can enjoy the game. However, tomorrow will be the official release of the only expansion CD Projekt Red is bringing to the game.

Mortal Kombat 1's recent launch on Nintendo Switch will undoubtedly go down as one of the most abysmal that the games industry has ever seen. Downgrades were expected due to the system's inferior hardware, but the port is filled with bugs, horrendous texture issues, and is nowhere near the quality you'd expect from a game being sold for $70. It looks remarkably worse than it did in the game's pre-release trailers, and it turns out there might be a good reason for that.

Fans aren’t happy with the Mortal Kombat 1 launch trailer for Nintendo Switch, and I don’t blame them. At around the 1:53 mark in the video, a Steam achievement is clearly visible in the bottom right corner. It’s not unusual for trailers to feature footage from the PC version of their game, however, it’s a bit disingenuous in this case. There technically is a “Footage Not Final” message but I think there’s a difference between not final, and simply footage from a different version altogether.

Pretty much since the remake of Resident Evil 4 was released in March (yes, it’s been six months since it launched), fans have been clamoring for the “Separate Ways” DLC. The upcoming expansion was confirmed during Sony’s State of Play, and now a new trailer has been doing the rounds.

Lies of P is a game that has quite a following. Fans quickly took up with the look of the gameplay design and an interesting twist to a children’s tale. However, what fans were not expecting was the development team releasing the game ahead of its official launch date. Today was supposed to be the official release of Lies of P, but if you recall, yesterday, we saw the sudden launch of the game, which gave some fans a chance to get a chance to play through the campaign early. 

Well, that just about seals it: Mortal Kombat 1 looks absolutely incredible. This launch trailer has a bit of everything: slick cinematics, gorgeous gameplay, and even a couple of glimpses of the new Super Smash Bros-esque Invasion mode – this is going to be one for the ages, we reckon. We also get some first footage of pre-order bonus character Shang Tsung and roster padder Reiko.

Revealed just last week during Sony's State of Play presentation, Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways is heading our way very soon indeed. This DLC add-on for the excellent remake recounts Ada Wong's perspective on the story, and the agent brings some new gameplay dynamics to the survival horror title.

Resident Evil fans have been enjoying a series of remakes delivered by the Capcom team. The series of video games has seen a resurgence of interest for the earlier releases as well, and while we don’t know if we’ll see this trend continue with remaking past releases, we know what’s next. For those of you who enjoyed Resident Evil 4, get ready to jump right back into the game with the upcoming DLC expansion, Separate Ways.

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is a remake of the original Wizardry PC game. Digital Eclipse, who did the Atari 50 and TMNT collections, is behind this game. And it looks completely amazing.

Publisher Spiral Up Games and developer The Swordman Studio have released the launch trailer for Wuxia-style RPG Wandering Sword, which is due out for PC via Steam on September 15 for $24.99. It will also be available at a special 12 percent-off launch discount during the first week of release.

NetherRealm Studios' latest 2D fighter, Mortal Kombat 1, is right around the corner. The thing about factory games is the final product doesn’t really matter.  What’s being built, what’s its purpose?  Who cares!  The goal of making a thing isn’t so important as the process of its construction, with a million bits and pieces all whirring along in sync, each machine hand-placed in a system that makes perfect sense to the builder but is utterly incomprehensible to anyone else.  There’s an order to the systems that’s satisfying to watch, and whatever the outcome may be is less important than that it all functions as designed.  The original Shapez is a game about using factory elements to mine, cut, manipulate and stack basic shapes into a specific configuration, and the sequel is more of the same but much shinier and with a few wrinkles to the landscape to shake up production.

Co-op-centric hack-and-slash RPG Hammerwatch 2 is out now on PC. Alongside releasing the game, publisher Modus Games and developer Crackshell have also released a launch trailer for Hammerwatch 2, which you can check out below.
