Well, that just about seals it: Mortal Kombat 1 looks absolutely incredible. This launch trailer has a bit of everything: slick cinematics, gorgeous gameplay, and even a couple of glimpses of the new Super Smash Bros-esque Invasion mode – this is going to be one for the ages, we reckon. We also get some first footage of pre-order bonus character Shang Tsung and roster padder Reiko.

The game’s technically not out until 19th September, so still a week away, but the more expensive Premium Edition will open its Krypt to players later this week, on 14th September. A true PlayStation veteran, Sammy's covered the world of PS gaming for years, with an enormous Trophy count to prove it. He also likes tennis games way more than you.
I don't play fighting games but from what I watch on Youtube I prefer the animations of Tekken and Street Fighter more. I will be watching Youtube compilations of the fatalities though and funny match intros.
@Powerplay94 Yeah MK has always had stiff, and somewhat lifeless animation. It's still a blast to play though, just maybe stay away from online, it'll just cause you untold amounts of stress. At least that's what I do!
Not really into fighting games, but I like mk's kharacters, story, and just the kraziness of it.
not going to lie, that was a dope trailer for sure.
aside from all the hype and fervor to try and help sell it as something new and amazing alongside a massive visual upgrade; It is just another fighting game, and it takes 5 minutes of diligence to see it actually looks very similar to the last 3 iterations that have come out in the franchise.
It will sell just like sports games and call of duty games sell, as there is a fanbase there that gobble up every iteration in the genre they love regardless of whether its ultimately the same thing over and over again or not.
I only play fighting games with a friend who basically only plays western games. He really likes Mortal Kombat and so I play it with him, but I don't care much for fighting games in general. Occasionally, I check them out because the art and animation is so cool.
Mortal Kombat has come a long way with legitimately good story modes, cool cinematics, and somewhat branching choices. While I don't care for fighting games that much overall, it's hard to argue with Mortal Kombat's top tier quality.
Got the early access version and I'm excited to play it. Been a fan of MK since MK2 on my aunt's computer back in the day.
After Tekken it's my favourite fighting franchise. The fatalities are always awesome
