Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 Launch Trailer

Konami has released Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 patch 1.3.0, which addresses various issues with the controversial port.

Bandai Namco has announced it is expanding its retail presence across the UK with an additional London store and «more stores nationally».

It’s been months since Hayao Miyazaki’s latest (and maybe final? or maybe not!) anime movie, The Boy and the Heron, debuted in Japan, and fans of Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli from other countries, where the film has been making the festival rounds, have eagerly been waiting for their chance to see it. Ahead of the movie’s December release in U.S. theaters, promotion has been rolling out slowly: First, with the movie’s initial Japanese-language teaser trailer, then the announcement of the voice cast for the English dub, and now the first English-language trailer, featuring the voices of Robert Pattinson, Dave Bautista, Florence Pugh, and others.

In August, Konami announced that it would be celebrating the Metal Gear Solid series’ anniversary with a series of ports. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 would bring games that were previously unavailable on modern consoles and PC to a new generation of players. The collection, which was released on Oct. 24, has provided something more than that: It’s made games available that were otherwise inaccessible without older hardware, extremely expensive physical editions, or emulation. It allows players to own these games without fear of them being delisted or vanishing.

Cliff Bleszinski, the creator behind the Gears of War series, has suggested the games get a God of War-style reboot. Oh, and that Xbox just needs to give him a call.

Star Ocean The Second Story R will be out on November 2nd, 2023. Its coming to the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5.

Konami has fixed one of the more glaring issues with the Master Collection version of Metal Gear Solid 1. When the game hit Steam three days ago, players were supposed to be able to download different language packs—Japanese, US English and what-have-you—via the game's launcher. Unfortunately, the relevant Steam pages were inexplicably AWOL, making international versions of the game inaccessible.

Are you ready for a reborn adventure among the stars? Square Enix has been diving back into its history to bring back games from the past and give them new life. The 2.5HD style has granted them new styles to work with, and the next game to get that treatment is Star Ocean The Second Story R. The game won’t just get the visual upgrades that past titles have, but updated battle mechanics, the choice to listen to Japanese or English voice actors, and more. The title is arguably the most beloved entry in the RPG franchise, so seeing it reborn for modern consoles will be quite a treat.

Publisher Square Enix and developer Gemdrops have released the launch trailer for action RPG remake Star Ocean: The Second Story R, as well as details on the rest of the game’s party, the Ten Wise Men, Assault Actions, and New Game+.

Konami has released the first in-engine look at Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
