MJ was introduced to the Spider-Man canon in 1965; since then she has gone on to become Peter Parker's main love interest and the principal beneficiary of his affection in the franchise's many movies, comics, and video games.

A Marvel's Spider-Man 2 player has found a way to transform Peter and Miles' universe into Spider-Man Noir's, with just a few changes in the settings menu.

From a world with increased density and scale to developments like seamless fast travel that can jump to any point on the map, Insomniac Games pushed the envelope in many ways while failing to implement an age-old option that generates fun.

Like the first, features a vast array of villains and several exceptional bosses; however, not all of the interactions with bosses are equal in excitement, fun, or difficulty, some of the game's boss battles are far more challenging than others. Though each boss battle in presents a unique set of challenges, a few of these fights will push the player's ability to its very limits.

's story tells the next chapter in the lives of Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face both superpowered and personal battles. While the game's story has been widely praised and tells a mostly complete narrative, it does leave some loose ends, which it could tie up in story DLC.

The primary plot of Spider-Man 2 involves Kraven the Hunter, a small army, and a slew of supervillains, but similar to the previous game, Spider-Man 2 encourages players to take time to do other things. In Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, being Spider-Man doesn’t simply mean foiling super-criminals, but using your powers to give back, exercising that Great Responsibility that is core to the character’s ethos. And so, in between confrontations with Kraven and the symbiotic black suit that creeps into the narrative, the player does the everyday work of being a superhero.

It seems like you can't swing down a single street in Spider-Man 2 without bumping into a reference or two. Even taking away the many, many suits you can unlock that are direct nods to other Marvel properties, you still have locations like the Wakandan Embassy and Sanctum Sanctorum that you can find while thwipping across New York. You don't find many nods to properties outside of Marvel though, but it seems like there is one during one of the game's biggest moments. Be warned, we're heading spoiler territory.

In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players switch between playing as Peter Parker and Miles Morales, two characters with spider-bite origin stories. However, some may be wondering how old these protagonists are during the events of Spider-Man 2.

Between Peter and Miles, has no shortage of costumes for its heroes to wear. When including the content from its Digital Deluxe Edition and pre-order bonuses, Insomniac's superhero sequel had 39 suits for each hero, with a variety of additional color variations for many of them. The games also go to great lengths to show you the goons you fight are ultimately unharmed — throw (or kick) someone off a building, and they will automatically get webbed to a nearby surface on their way down.

's story features far more shocking deaths than the previous two entries in the series. From classic Spider-Man characters to beloved NPCs, nobody seems to be safe in Insomniac's latest superhero title.

Spider-Man 2 is chock full of references to other Marvel properties, as New York itself features locations such as the Avengers Tower, the Sanctum Sanctorum, and the Wakandan Embassy, all of which are references to The Avengers, Doctor Strange, and Black Panther. In fact, the latter even lets you throw up a wholesome Wakanda Forever salute outside of its doors as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, but you'd better make sure you're playing as Miles Morales if you want to do it.

If there's one thing you can't criticise Insomniac Games for, it's a lack of comic book appreciation. Never let it be said that video game companies don’t know how to have fun with their fanbases and properties. Thanks to its incredible day-one sales, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has become the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game ever. 

There’s a new king in town, at least when it comes to the very specific metric of “fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game in PlayStation history in the first 24 hours.” Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has taken that particular crown, with publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment announcing Monday it sold more than 2.5 million copies of the Peter Parker/Miles Morales collab on its launch day, Oct. 20.

After the credits rolled and I was back to swinging through New York City in Spider-Man 2, I noticed something... bizarre. Miles Morales was a cube. The default Blender cube. I thought maybe this was some quirky skin for beating the game, like how Resident Evil 2 lets you play as tofu blocks, but after looking at my costumes, it became clear. The cube isn't intentional at all, it's a bug.
