The release of DLC for could finally resolve a huge missed opportunity from. The second game released in Insomniac's series,, was an outstanding title; however, the base game was short and it lacked any DLC. This was compounded in the most recent game, by the fact that, for the most part, comes across as a Peter Parker-orientated game, with Miles being relegated to the unenviable position of being the game's secondary protagonist — especially during the main story sections concerning Harry Osborn and the game's primary antagonist, the sentient alien Symbiote known as Venom.

Insomniac Games' is the latest in a series of video games that has done a phenomenal job of including a vast range of powerful adversaries for Peter Parker and Miles Morales to face — both universally known enemies and those that are little recognized outside the most dedicated Spider-Man fans. Despite this, there are a significant number of enemies that absolutely must feature in the inevitable sequel to the latest entry, — a few of whom have never made it into a game, but absolutely have the potential to be devastatingly powerful bosses that torment both Peter and Miles as well as New York.

Insomniac Games seems to be heavily teasing a Daredevil appearance in . There has long been speculation surrounding whether the two New York superheroes could ever meet in a game, primarily as players are able to explore The Man Without Fear's stomping ground, Hell's Kitchen across all three of Insomniac Games' Marvel titles to date.

Throughout , the life of the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker, is put in perilous jeopardy on numerous occasions. The web-shooting, wall-climbing superhero has seemingly never been so vulnerable in any of his previous bouts, including the showdown with the Sinister Six in Insomniac's first title. Despite the plethora of threats in, Peter is a remarkably resilient character, though at one point his toughness and durability are tested to the extreme.
